Anyone got any tips on defeating Phantom- the spider/scorpion boss in Mission 3?

Sorry?
Remember please that I'm not particularly bright. What is this game "DMC". Did Run DMC put out a game and I just completely miss it? DAMMIT!

I can't believe you missed that game. Fucking awesome!!!1
Anyways the mission 3 boss is easy as hell, you just gotta scratch records like a madman, and then throw the Beastie Boys No Sleep Till Brooklyn 12 at the boss to kill him. Gotta be timed perfectly though.

Hahaha.
There isn't any real secret to beating him, I remember when I first fought him I thought I was gonna just drop the game. Jump on his back when you get a chance, go devil trigger and whale on him. The camera can get really annoying with all the pillars, but just keep trying and you'll get it.

It's interesting because I keep hearing how difficult the 1st Devil May Cry was, and yet I beat it easily over the course of about 2 nights. I only died a few times. I'm not the world's best game player or anything, it must have just been my kinda game. And I did sit around a bit in one of those bonus rooms to build up a helluva alotta bonus gems or whatever they were...

I died quite a few times, I had been so pussied up by the rest of the industry I forgot what a challenge was. It was refreshing to see that it was actually challenging... most challenging part for me was Nightmare 3. Oh man, what an amazing boss design.
Don't make me come over there & say "it sucked" again...
Oh, WTF...it sucked.
I only keep mine on the shelf so the other games don't fall over.

See? Was it so hard to just type it all out?
Keep in mind that we can, at any given moment, discuss any of 50,000 possible games. Don't expect someone who's head is already too cluttered with meaningless shortcuts to automatically decipher some random game that you decide to give a shortcut to.
So I promise that I won't refer to Rabio Lepus Special as "RLS" if you promise not to refer to Devil May Cry as "DMC" unless you're gonna spell it out at least once for me. Deal?

It's easy, Kaine. You pick up the secret weapon from the arrow smith and then you walk this way.

Put the difficulty at easy and just hit him in the head. Of course you can't see the head, because of the horrible camera, but try to hit him somewhere around the head area. That should work.
