What does "deluxe edition" mean? Is that referring to the boxed with RAM cart version, or is it something else? And the difference is just the packaging / accessories, no difference in the actual game, right? I don't want to be missing out on anything !!!

That's the box w/RAM cart. Prepare to bend over if you're buying from Adol! He's always spendy...and check out his feedback.....

What a joker...Metal Slug is worth, at most, $1500, and that's if you're looking in the wrong places. I'd say he's overestimated the price of that game. If I saw that, I'd be quite careful about placing a bid with this character. My online retailers just hiked the price on it, too...it was selling for $1100 not long ago at all.
Of course, I just don't use eBay anymore. I've managed to build a decent collection of rare games outside of eBay, and I think my wallet's the happier.

Metal Slug for $1,500?!?! Is that for a whole stand up Neo-Geo machine w/MS or just the cart? Is that price for the US home version? I seem to recall seeing the arcade version selling cheaply.
I bought PCE Super CD Gradius II from Adol a few years ago, and it went fine. His prices are indeed ricockulous, though. Legendarily so.

AES, naturally. I could probably buy 5-7 or maybe even 10 Metal Slug MVS carts for the price of one AES cart.
The US version is more rare than the Japanese, but my supplier ("supplier") hiked up the prices. So I doubt I'll be buying it from there. That said, the game's pretty darn hard to find; prices reflect the market demand all too well.

i wasn't thinking of buying off him ... I am well aware that anything that he sells can generally be got elsewhere, much cheaper. I was just conerned that there might be some "Special Edition" Metal Slug on the Saturn with extra stuff on it. In which case, I would have to get myself one!
As it is, I already have a boxed with RAM cart version on it's way to me. And for a much better price :D

I'd go so far as to say you could buy a 4 slot MVS cabinet with all 4 Metal Slug games for the price of a Metal Slug home cart.
Hell, I bought a 2 slot MVS board with Metal Slug, Pulstar and 5 other games for far less than a Metal Slug homecart.

Much better price Vroomfunkel! And yeah....at $2500 for a complete US Metal Slug AES cart, I could get a 2 slot MVS cabinet, and all of the Metal Slug games plus maybe one or two more MVS carts. The MVS Metal Slug 1 and 2 are CHEAP. I don't think that's a stretch at all Cap'n!

I purchase a "new" in the box PC Engine (white system) about 2 1/2 years ago from Adol, and it was indeed used. Actually used is not the word. It wasn't even white...it was smokers yellow. And it took over a month to get here to boot.

Yeah...I've heard a few TOO many horror stories about him...I highly recommend NOT dealing with Adol. There are other sources.

My Metal Slug boxed with RAM arrived this morning, and I have to say it is in very nice condition. I am happy! Not least because I got it for half the price that I can sell my surplus-to-requirments stand alone copy for :D
Although prices on Ebay UK seem a little unstable at the moment, so I might hold off for a while and see if they get back to normal.
