Wanna play retro games? Check it out!!!

So I've been thinking about starting a retro game play club! Where we vote on what game to play from what system. Them play for a week. Post pics of high scores or end credits. I haven't thought it all the way out just kinda seeing if people would want to do this. And yes I know NA and DP already do this. But those are only Nes and MAME and I/we have so many games we never play! And I already talked to the guy here about it and he said go ahead. You could use emulators. I guess? But yeah. If your interested post some ideas, what you think and I guess we'll take nominations for the first game? Try a common game on a common system to start us off. With a point system. After 4 or 5 games are posted. I'll add a pole and we'll vote on what game we will all be playing! Sounds fun !!!

I'd be up for it, but I don't want to resort to emulating hardware and games I don't physically own. When something pops up that's on my shelf, I'd definitely join in.

I've got most of the common flagship titles for 80s-90s Sega and Nintneno systems. All the Sonics, all the Marios, Altered Beast, etc. I've got a lot of shooters on NES, like Gradius, Life Force, Xexyz, Section Z, and others. Limiting it to games with score kinda hurts me, because I'm more into RPG and adventure, but I think I have some games that you guys would have. I might be forgetting something cool, so check my RFGeneration sig link.

I also picked up the recent Genesis collection, so that's a good 40ish qualifying games.

What's the scoring criteria? Are we going by first level?

After we decide which game we will be playing. It will be your 1 game total score. So if you can get really far you can have a high score. as of right now it would be no cheating. ie. game genie or save states ect. Maybe later we could have some where you can cheat how ever you want!? Sounds fun. But just for starters it'd be high score. Maybe for some games with out points we could. See who could get the farthest or beat a said game from start to finish fastest? But yeah were still voting on what game to play. So far Gradius is way in the lead with 100%!!! Lol. A few more votes and we will start playing!!!

so I palyed Streets of Rage 2 Last night alittle bit. My High score was 186,000. I did take a pic buy I'm sure someone can beat that. I made it to the end of level 3. Thanx and good luck!

i played and pictured it up. somehow managed to put my camera into raw picture mode so as soon as i get it worked out and crap i'll post the image.

the bright one is just so you can see the name thingy i put up since it seems getting good pictures of my tv isnt easy (you can tell its the same tv because you can see the little basket on top in both pictures)

I got to Jet on the second level about 100000 points, then i got frustrated. Couldn't seem to hit him at all on the emulator and lost all 4 lives I had.

You can play it as many times as you like then after you die just wait for the high score screen. It takes for ever. A little easier. Also taking pics of the tv. You should turn of the lights in the room and the flash. I don't know have the piece of paper will come out but we'll figure out something.
