View Full Version : Rank your systems from most played, to least played.

Rank your systems in order from the one you play the most, to the one you play the least. Don't rank them based upon how much you've played them in the past, but how much you currently play them. For those here that have like 30+ systems...you don't have to list every single one if you don't want to.

I guess ill just do top 10 in that order so i dont have to consider how often i play my watara supervision or other obscure things.
1) Wii - just got it have been playing it an awful lot
2) PC - always been a huge fan of PC gaming
3) SNES - So many great games
4) Genesis w/ 32x and sega cd - I grew up on the genesis side of the 16 bit wars this thing has a special place in my heart and a killer library
5) NES - My first true video game love this is what got me started sure i had played Intellivision and 2600 before this but super mario bros. is the game that got me hooked for life
6) PS2 - Great and massive software library, not a classic but its destined to e
7) Atari Jaguar - Say what you will i love this system, I have said it before and ill say it again right here. What this system lacks in great software it makes up for with sheer character.
8) Virtualboy - got a flashcart for this thing and have been mucking around with developing homebrew on it (shameless plug: Check out my chrono run demo on planet virtual boy http://www.vr32.de/modules/games/?hd ;) )
9) DS - Some people read a book every night to fall asleep i play ds
10) Dreamcast - Sega's last hoorah and the first system that had the potential to really succeed post genesis, You were way too young to die.

I think the question of what systems games do you play most often would be ranked better. I no longer have any consoles older than the PS2 hooked up and I don't touch any of my handhelds older than the PSP/DS. For NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, Genesis, Neo Geo, and PC Engine, I play them on my PSP through emulation(beats having to switch out cartridges and discs.) For my PSX games I play them on the PS3, PS2, or PSP but mostly PSP.
So for what systems I play the most. It'd end up being.
-PSP
-DS
-PS3
-PS2
For the systems games I'm playing most though, it'd end up being this. Seeing as how I have new unplayed games for the PS3, that's the reason it's higher. I'd play the PS2 and PSX games more but I'm too lazy to change discs often, and in the case of PSX games, too lazy to pull a disc out, rip the game off it, and turn it into an eboot file(I have a 16GB memory stick and have 10GB left to fille up, just haven't done so.)
-PSP
-DS
-PS3
-GBA
-SNES
-NES
-PSX
-PS2
-GB/GBC
-Genesis
-Neo Geo
-PC-Engine
-Sega CD
-Master System
I also haven't played some systems in awhile. It's been over a year for the N64.

1. SNES - I'm pretty much going through all the games I haven't played yet so it'll stay there for a while.
2. MD - As above, but I've beaten almost everything I want to beat.
3. PS2/1 - Playing a bunch of games that I missed out on when they were released, like GoW and RE4.
4. NES - Just pop in an obscure game once in a while, the library is huge.
5. PS3 - Fallout 3
6. GBA/GB - Fire Emblem and obscure GB games.
7. MCD - Lunar 2
8. iPhone - Pretty much whenever I get the chance to when outside the apartment.
9. Master System - There isn't a whole lot left for me to discover but I like replaying the classics.
10. N64 - Will be playing it a lot more when I'm done with the top 3.
11. PC-Engine/CD - Will be playing it a lot more when I'm done with the top 3.
12. Neo Geo Pocket Color - It happens but I don't have that much interest in it.
13. GameGear - There isn't a whole lot left for me to discover.
14. 360 - I don't own it but I do play it with friends.

1-4: psp/360/ds/pc - it highly depends on what new game i own or am feeling at the moment. since i play 1 game at a time, usually, i jump from console to console, genre to genre once i've had enough.
i also have a ps3 (no play on it at all, even though i have 2 games, its strictly for BD), a snes/genesis/sega cd/gba/gb/n64/gamecube/ps1/ps2 none of which are even connected or ever played. the rare gba/ps1/ps2/xbox game i want to play i play using Backwards compatibility, but its ultra rare that i ever do.

In the last year or so:
MAME
PC gaming
Nintendo DS (for Contra 4, Retro Game Challenge, and the random GBA title, mainly Gradius Galaxies; grinding Metrovanias isn't fun)
Game Boy Color (until I busted the sound, WOOPZ)
Genesis
maybe NES
SNES (the last game I played was a compilation of NES titles though! - Caravan Shooting Collection...BY HUDSON)
MSX2+ (I've actually got more hours in this one than the other systems recently, by virtue of Space Manbow alone)
N64 (I spent some time with Perfect Dark.)
If we include emulation, NES and N64 go up in the charts considerably.
Looking towards the future, the promise of some long-awaited SNES titles (SFC actually) hitting the collection probably means SNES is getting a big bump.

Over the past two months or so:
1) Atari 8-bit
2) Atari 2600
3) Nintendo 64
4) Xbox 360
5) Nintendo DS
And a handful of other things I played for less than an hour.

Here's the consoles I currently have hooked up not in any order of preference:
The newer:
Playstation 3 (also for PS1 & PS2 games)
Wii (also for GC and downloaded games)
Xbox 360 (also play certain Xbox games on it)
Xbox (modded; mainly for emulators or games that don't work on 360)
GameCube (I use it just for the Game Boy Player now)
The old:
Genesis
SNES
NES
N64
Sega Master System
Atari 5200
Atari 2600
The only handhelds I play on a lot now are the PSP and Nintendo DS. Most everything else has a better way to play it. Either modded Xbox & PSP emulators or Game Boy Player for GameCube / Super Game Boy for SNES.
Everything else I collect is stored in laptop bags and I open them up and play them when I'm in the mood for something different. My favorite less common system is probably the Neo Geo CD. I like the controllers a lot and love the quality 2D graphics, infinite continues in most games and the replayability of the games. Im probably take out my Atari 7800 more than it though.

The only system that I really even play is my PSP. I have arcade emulators on it, as well as emulators for every system pre-Dreamcast along with 8-gigs worth of games to play! Yeah, it's not the 'authentic' experience, but I don't have the patience to keep dragging my systems out of storage and plugging/unplugging everything just to play a game. Also, it's portable :)
