This is a longshot, but someone out there may have a pinout diagram for the wires in a NES Vaus controller?

Should be the same as in a stock NES controller:

If you're trying to make one from spare parts, the difficult part will be getting the encoding right. The NES doesn't have analog inputs so the input from the trackball has to be digitalized in the controller and then sent to the NES serially.
