I seem to recall someone talking about a band that had a track on an LP they had put out you could record to a tape and somehow load onto a computer (?) as software - some kind of game?
Anyone remember what the heck this was?

It was an album called XL1, by Pete Shelley (lead singer of the Buzzcocks, solo). The extra track was to be recorded on a cassette and loaded onto a Spectrum (which was only popular in the UK). It wasn't really a game. You were supposed to load it on your computer and start the program at the same time as the record. It displayed the lyrics in synch with the music, and showed some simple graphics like lines and shapes moving around.
Here (http://www.headen.com/XL1.htm)'s some info on it.

It was a lot more prevalent than just one or two examples, actually. This thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=122246) and resulting link detail a lot more information about the subject.

I'd love to find that Thompson Twins Adventure Game...
However, I find it annoying that those secret codes are only on certain releases. I have Information Society's Peace and Love Inc, but it's on cassette. You would think that they would include it on the format most likely to be played into such a computer.

Great, thanks for the link - I did remember it coming up recently.
