Well, the German government is already working on an internet filter to make it impossible for Germans to visit child porn sites. That's certainly not a loss, but I bet once the technology is installed to filter websites, some will also cry out for a ban of websites that have to do with "Killerspiele", as they're called here. The parents of the victims of the Winnenden shooting already publicly demanded a ban of all such games. But most of the bloodiest games are not even released over here (MadWorld, Gears of War) or can only be bought by certifying your age of 18 (and are not officially on store display) or are highly censored, that's something nobody seems to know in the anti-games group.

I'm fairly sure now that I can't stand that country. The whole Nazi party thing was bad enough, then they started WW2, fired up concentration camps to kill Jews, homosexuals and others they didn't like, and to this day still act like the entire country is run by insane asylum escapees. The ONLY good thing this country did was to outlaw Holocaust denial, but I suspect that more from world pressure than genuine desire. Current estimates seem to be that at least 20% of the country is still Nazi-loyal.

I can defend tem by mentioning the band Scorpions and Accept, but that argument seems to go moot when I mention Rammstein.

Say bad things about Uwe Boll but the guy does hate the Nazis and seems okay with making Germans out to be idiots. No surprise since he gladly took advantage of German tax loopholes to make movies. Made that country pay to make his films.

The vast majority of Germans are vehemently anti-Nazi; most still feel ashamed about what their country did. If you had said that in the 50's or 60's I would agree, but to say that about Germany today is simply untrue.

In fact, the reason they are so up in arms about video games is because of the Nazi regime. Pretty much, Germans fear anything with blood in it will encourage kids to become violent and lead them down the road Hitler. I agree that it is incredibly stupid, but to accuse most Germans of being Nazis is just ridiculous.

Just picked up PC Go a German PC magazine: You're not allowed to visit certain (obviously harmless) websites (page 69), you're not allowed to have Speed Camera warning in your GPS (page 95) (even if you don't use it, the installation alone is already illegal), you're not allowed to play video games (coming soon).

The 20% he meant are from a study that showed that 14,4% of all youths are apparently "extremly xenophobic." However, so far none of the pure neo-nazi parties have made it into the federal parliament, they would need at least 5% of the vote and they never came close to that so far.

You really have to go way back to the good old days when real moral values were enforced, before everything started to decline. I'm talking about the Middle Ages!! Remember, the older something is the better it is, the newer something is the worse it becomes. People were really religious back then too.

You couldn't marry someone too young, they'd have to be at least 7 years old to be old enough(give or take). Though that's still technically before the age of consent so nothing would happen between them. They wouldn't be classified as an adult until the ages of 12-14, though their first child would usually be born later(around age 16 or so).

Sonicwolf does have a point. Say some guy ended up torturing hundreds of people and slowly cutting them into pieces while keeping them alive while he did it. Let's also say this guy had GTA4 in his PS360 at the time he was captured but also owned movies about famous serial killers, or movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw, etc. Instead of the movies, since games are so much more violent than any of these movies(sarcasm,) they'd probably blame GTA4.

I mean seriously. How many tv shows are there out there with corrupt cops, etc? How many movies about gangs and such. So just because you're acting out in killing a fictional character on GTA4, Manhunt, FPS games, Resident Evil, etc, these are more violent than a game that shows a person getting hung on a hook, their achilles tendon cut, eyeball burned out, chained up to a wall and forced to saw through their own foot?

How about the woman who is claiming the game of life is the reason for all homosexuality in the world(it's probably true, but still.) Her daughter draws a card and gets married to the same sex and she asks her mom about it. Her childs mind will never be the same again. Oh noes. I mean.
