Worst Final Fantasy characters

What's your votes for the worst characters in any of the FF games? I mean those party memebers who are annoying, useless in battle and make you not want to use them in any of your battle formations.

My vote goes for Gau of Final Fantasy 6 fame.

I don't think I've EVER liked any of the characters who use "Blue magic" or steal moster abilities, too much damn work. And the char's themselves are usually pretty lame as well...

@Sylentwulf - for what it's worth, I really liked your old avatar. I think you should clean it up, dust it off, and put it back.

As for bad final fantasy characters, going strictly by personality, Barrett was SO lame! He was practically offensive, he was so stereotypical (and badly done, too).

Gameplay-wise, Gau was completely worthless. So was Red Mage. I stumbled across a site where the guy beat FFI with all Red Mages. That's got to be pretty hard considering how freaking lame Red Mage gets once you get past the Fire elemantal.

I despised every character in FF8. It ruined the game for me.

I can't really think of any Final Fantasy character who I despised in terms of personality, but I remember two who I thought were worthless in battle.
Edward, the bard-prince from Final Fantasy IV, couldn't do anything except put enemies to sleep, and he'd automatically "hide" whenever his hit points ran low, thus preventing you from healing him. Way to help out there, Ed.
Final Fantasy VII's fortune-teller Cait Sith also turned out to be fairly weak, as I could never develop him properly. He even looked useless, for that matter.

I'm not too fond of any of the Final Fantasy VIII characters, but if I had to single one out, it'd be Irvine.

He looks like a rejected extra from the movie Wild Wild West, and he's no good under pressure. His moves don't impress me and he's useless in battle.

I completely agree with the 2 others who hated all the FF8 characters. I just couldn't stand them. They just felt so.....generic.

I also couldn't stand most of FFX's Characters either...except Auron and Rikku. Tidus especiallly annoyed me with his "I WANNA SCREAM!!!!!!!" crap. And some one tell him he's wearing mutant pants/shorts things. It looks insanely stupid.

I honestly couldn't stand Aeris in FFVII, I rarely used her and was so happy when she died so I wouldn't have to drag her around anymore.

Gau was a pain in the butt and I hated having to make him more powerful. Took forever to get all those creatures and the reward was useless.

Cait Sith I hardly ever used until I needed to. Worthless.

No one in FFXIII impressed me at all. I couldn't stand the magic system in that game and I have still never beat it.

I also never liked having Cid in FFIV.

As you can tell cait sith was one of my fav chars, and if u build him up right he is uber. Anywho...least fav char.....errrr....i guess vincent would def be my least fav...never bother using him..he is rather weak and useless and his limit breaks suck....maybe the new game wil change my mind about him....which i doubt...

I'm annoyed by pretty much every character from FF7 on. However, since I've barely played FF8-FFX-2, I'll avoid making any real criticisms. As for FF7, I literally dislike every single character in that game, and I'm not an extremely picky person as far as RPG characters go (I can usually find at least ONE character I like, if not many). The worst of the bunch, though... hmmm... Cloud with his teenage angst and sexual tension with Sephiroth... Tifa and her general whore-ness... Aeris and her generic, stereotypical, "sweet, mysterious girl" personality. The minor playable characters are actually better than the main ones. o_O Cid and Red are probably the best characters in the cast, but I still don't even like them. :/

I love it when people bring back old threads, I can see how my responses might have changed (or discover whole new discussions). Plus it gives me a chance to alienate other fans of a popular series.

I hated Cloud. Annoying little bastard with too big a sword. I liked Aeris, she seemed so sweet and beloved, but Cloud, he was just too shallow for me. Plus his sword didn't double as a gun like that one guy from VIII did (see how big an FF player I am? LOL ).

And to hellvin's post from two years or so ago: I loved Palom and Porom. :embarrassed: They were all cute and powerful and little and the boy one (I think he was Porom) was trying to be all badass and cool... awww, kids. :D
