Who all here has ordered one of these off of RetroZone? I just received mine in the mail yesterday...and I'm thrilled to be able to play the NWC without having to shell out thousands for an original.

RetroZone recently started adding dip switches to the carts like the gold and gray carts had. The carts now come in a box, with an NWC 1990 poster packaged inside as well (I read that the earlier repros they made didn't come with any of that.

I want one, but they always run out when I'm ready to buy one.

Oh, and the NCC 1991 repro just came out.

Indeed, the old ones did not have a dip switch, box, or poster. Just the cart w/ manual in a sleeve in bubble wrap. All that is cool, but don't think I'll be re-ordering.

I have one and love it! It is great to bust out at parties. On halloween we had an 80s themed party, and gave away a Genesis and N64 to winners with the highest score, ans the winner with the best costume. It is great fun!

They have them in right now...and I was very surprised by how fast the shipping was.

From the website, $55 plus $6 to ship via Priority Mail. Definitely worth it, if you're looking for the authentic NWC playing experience. I've one of the older repros (without the dipswitches), as well as a limited red version of the newer repros.

Now you just need to kidnap the guy who served as the announcer for the championships and force him to speak while you and your friends play.

Well that's the gray cart. That's like getting a gray haired formerly blond when compared to the gold card which is a young hot blond in her early 20's.

I had the NANWC and the older numbered RetroZone NWC carts. Sold both and bought the recent one with the manual, poster, and box. No regrets here, let the collectors fight over these relatively minor variants.

You simply call his agency Mega, Inc. in NYC. Terry Lee Torok is still with them, as I understand it. However, I don't think he has the mullet any longer for the true experience.

Don't lie to yourself. It's still not the real thing. Might as well just emulate it. Save you $100.

It's $60, not $100.

And playing a repro on original hardware would be indistinguishable from playing an original on original hardware. The same can not be said for emulating it on a PC, other console, etc.

And emulation is like playing with yourself: It works, but it's not the way it's meant to be done. :D

This might be a stupid question - what are the dip switches for and why didn't the prior versions have them?

The dip switches set the count down timer for the games. The first version just had a set time because nobody had reverse engineered how exactly the switches worked.

So how do you tell the difference between these and the actual championship carts?

e: oh it says right on the label. *headdesk*

I'm glad to see that this repro was done with someone with brains - it actually states it's a repro and where it came from, so as to avoid any morons later selling it off to people as the real deal. If only all repros could be like this, But I guess people just can't live without a fake Nintendo Seal of Quality on their carts, as if they were fooling themselves -_-

I got one of these a while back. I have not played it much though. Hopefully when I get my game room more in order I can give it a try again.

The site, and games listed thereon, are legit. I've bought several things from them over the past 2-3 years. Each and every time, I was met with quick shipment and great quality games.
