Damnit. Newegg doesn't seem to ship to Canada. Would anyone here be willing to ship a copy to me if I pay the extra shipping? I want to get my hands on the US version and write an updated review.

Newegg.com isn't the only place you can get this dude.

I've ordered from both sites in the past, and both ship to Canada just to cite a couple.

I still haven't ordered a copy yet, I'm trying to get a local shop to order some by the end of the week. If nothing gets done by then I'll probably finally take the plunge.

Tried Newegg.ca?

If you had searched newegg.ca you'd see it's only on the US site at the moment. ;)

Apologies, I thought maybe Satoshi_Matrix didn't know about their Canadian site.

Thanks for the heads up on this, guys. I've only been vaguely aware of the existence of this game, but if it's a quality 2D platformer and a potential rarity, heck, I'll pick it up for 20 bucks.

I'm surprised that there are people on here that have never heard of Newegg. They're THE site for buying anything for a PC. I'm sure I've spent thousands of dollars with them. They're even starting to go pretty mainstream now, with some commercials on TV.

No need to apologize. I found it strange myself but there must be some reason behind a seperate Canadian newegg, although I don't see it as an excuse to not have the same items on both sites (see: amazon, ebay, etc..).

It's possibly due to them having vastly different stock in their respective warehouses. There's even a Chinese site.

Got mine in the mail today. I hope to try it out fairly soon. It arrived pretty quick. I may order from newegg again in the future.

Mine came today too. Took about 5 days. Can't wait to fire it up later....

Just ordered my copy from Walmart.com. I wonder if Walmart will bother putting it into stores?

Mine arrived yesterday, and I started at it today. I'm already up to the 5th map. I don't imagine it'll be very long, but it's enjoyable, classic-style 2D platform action, albeit a bit easy. I've already amassed a reserve of about 30 lives, but I hear you unlock the original Great Giana Sisters (or a remake of it, something like that) if you beat the whole game without a Game Over. Perhaps it's for the best that the game starts off easy.

If anybody cares, I reviewed this for Otaku USA:

Hopefully it'll help spread the word on the game. I'm glad I picked it up, and I hope more people do the same.

I finally bit the bullet and ordered from DeepDiscount. Apparently, cduniverse is already on back-order... and my local shop while still trying to get a copy through their distributor was simply taking too long. Again, this isn't even for me but to give my buddy as a gift since it looks like a good game. I hope the sonbitch enjoys/appreciates it.

I love platformers, so I too ordered a copy last week. It arrived yesterday. I'm up to the third map now. While I have enjoyed the game thus far, I'm finding it a bit underwhelming. Like others have noted, it's extremely easy and seems rather generic to me. It reminds me of a shareware title.

Well, looks I waited too long. DeepDiscount is on backorder too and my order missed the boat. Now there's no other option, oh well.

It's still in stock at newegg.com. The price actually dropped to $14.99 there. It still doesn't appear to be on the Canadian site though.

I tried to buy it from Newegg but they never shipped it and they refunded my money so I had to buy it on Ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/GIANA-SISTERS-NDS-DSi-3DS-2011-3428-/360397286528?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item53e95a2c80#ht_3251wt_1719) It's the U.S. version and a pretty fun platformer.

Just beat it this morning... not a bad game for $20. I doubt I'll go back and try to collect all of those red gems (mainly because the platforming becomes really cheap in World 8), but I'd still say its worth the purchase. Better than the majority of licenced dreck on the DS this year anyway.

Mostly this. I made it a point to get every red diamond before beating the stage and that made worlds 7&8 satisfyingly challenging. The only stage I didn't do this with was whatever stage (can't remember) has the World X-2 brick, which I accidentally found and it pulled me out of the level.

9/10. Could be a little deeper but still fun, fun platforming. This is a must have DS games and it's a shame it is getting no big retailer shelf space.

Just beat the game last night and got every red diamond. Through the first five or so maps I thought the game was a little too straightforward, easy, and plodding, but then the difficulty ramped up and I really got into it. Worlds 7 and 8 were a lot of fun, though they were also maddening at certain times. Some of the jumps took extreme precision to make and I died A LOT. Thankfully it was easy to accumulate lives, so the frequent deaths weren't a major issue.

I was surprised at how short and simple the original levels were (contained in the world 8 bonus level), and I wish each map had had a different boss (fighting the same green dragon every time was a little disappointing). All in all though, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and I'm glad I got it while I still could. I don't imagine this is going to be easy to get a hold of in the coming years.

Hmm, it still says in stock at Newegg. I just tried ordering from them a few days ago since they have it the cheapest. They haven't shipped yet, but my order hasn't been canceled either. It looks like it's getting some wider distribution now. Target, Walmart, and Kohl's all have it in stock online.

For what it's worth, I ordered it from NewEgg over Thanksgiving weekend, and I just received it the other day, so they were (back) in stock not so long ago.

Sorry for the bump, but missed this when it came out, got it in the mail today, and love it so far. It would appear that it's rare; however it can be obtained for $20 at Target.com and Kohls.com with a quick web search. Amazon and ebay have it for $50, don't buy it there.

Agreed with all the above posts; it's easy, but somewhat long with 80 levels. It seems to be created for old school gamers like us who want some easy, relaxed, stress free gaming.

I also see Destineer is the publisher, and they're headquartered in MN.

Just got my copy, and played the 1st world..

It really is a 'Sunday afternoon' game. Like the music callbacks to the original ST, and the opening animation knows who they're playing to.
