OK here is my list:
1.PS2 its been important and i know it towered over the Xbox and gamecube.
2.PS3,I'm a Sony guy muh-self
3.NES i have one and my Step dad has like almost 200 nes games and he just got Bubble bath babes.
And that is my top 3 list of home consoles.:grumble:

My number 1 would have to be the atari 2600. Bringing the arcade into the home was totally revolutionary. Although there were others (Shout out to the vic 20 c64 and intellivision) this was the one to own. You had to live in the times to know.
Next up the Nes
snes and genesis tie.
Playstation cd based gone mainstream.

First, this doesn't belong in Modern Gaming. Secondly this kind of thing has been done far too many times to count. Please check out Classic Discussions (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=19) and see about posting some in there. I think some of those threads are right up your alley.

Here's my picks
1. PS2, I remember back in high school I don't think any of my friends didn't have a PS2 (and i was no gamer in high school really) but everyone had one. There was just so my great games on ps2 that i still play to this day.
2. SNES, ton's of classic games
3. N64, not as many great games as SNES or ps2 but, my oh my the many hour's i wasted on the N64 playin golden eye or smash bros at sleepovers.
