Nintendo's done it again.
The new Nintendo DSi handheld gaming console, arriving in stores April 5 for $170, is a quantum leap forward from the similar-looking DS Lite. It adds another layer of applications and functions to the core DS system to become the first Nintendo handheld that's plenty of fun even without the games.
My pig-tailed game-testing assistant, age 7, had nothing but praise: "It's very great. Almost all of my friends want it."

Quantum Leap forward?
They might as well have shown the public their Nintendo kissass money and got Scott Bakula to write the article.
Its not that big of a change. Just more money for Nintendo and less stuff to do for the 100 million people who bought DS before the i.

Somehow, Enterprise (and according to Google, Playgirl...ewww) notwithstanding, I think Mr. Bakula has some standards.

Can we call the DSi's processor "Ziggy"?

Well since Fox News said it, it must be true!
DSi was introduced to reignite the once white-hot DS business in Japan. Judging by Japanese sales, it hasn't. Introducing the DSi in North America while the Lite still dominates is highly questionable. If I were looking to buy a DS in these hard times I'd probably go with Lite due to its more attractive price. It's tough convincing consumers to buy a fully featured, more expensive system. Look at PS3...

I vaguely recall the final episode being weird but good.
And yeah, it was corny. One of my dad's favorite shows though.
Ziggy was undoubtedly the best thing about the show. Well, that and the mirror moments.

While there were a good number of corny episodes, there were also a lot of good episodes for Quantum Leap. Though many people hated it, I thought the ending was one of the best series finales...no happy ending here but still sad and nice :)
Just for coldb33r lol

Agreed. In reading the launch articles on various sites, it looks like it might be the first modern Nintendo product not to sell out. Personally, I will probably buy one in a year or so, but there is nothing game-wise right now that would convince me to upgrade to this marginally better system and certainly, the fact that many of the hyped apps are downloads is not a strong selling point for me.

It's tough convincing people the DSi is more fully-featured when it's actually missing more than half the number of games the Lite can play.

I think it's pretty obvious that the DSi is being aimed at people who could care less about GBA games.

Business-wise they have no reason to support the GBA. It's a dead console. However, DSiware games are mostly short stuff for the casual gamer market(thanks to the Peggle crowd tossing around more money than actual gamers do) and excluding the slot let them stick in 2 low-quality cameras.

Fox news also insisted that watching Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood destroyed an entire generation. LOL

I think calling it a quantum leap is actually downplaying the DSi a bit.
By definition, a quantum leap is the smallest possible change in something.

Did anybody notice that he called it ''Warioware Slapped!'' at least 3 times?

lol.
Warioware Slapped - Slap your DSi harder to win the game. Your prize - potential camera shock damage.
