I have some limited info, but am trying to find the a game for a friend that he played at a rental store back in 96-97. It could have been for the Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn or Playstation. It was a blade runner style game. Futuristic. Had a gun for a weapon. Supposedly my friend said it played a little like out of this world. On player, controlling one person. Also there might have been a girl with pink hair in the game(maybe?). Limited info I know, but I thought I would ask a question to the masses for additional titles it might be. So far I have the following possibilities:

1. Snatcher Sega CD
2. Heart of the Alien Sega CD
3. Fade to Black PS1

It is not Shadowrun. Any other possible ideas of what the game could be?

Well, Rise of the Dragon for the Sega CD was a point-and-click adventure which was trying as hard as it could to be very Blade Runner-ish, but it doesn't sound like what you were describing.

Could it be Flashback: The Quest for Identity?

I don`t recall having a gun, but Heart of Darkness comes to mind for Playstation.

As said above, most definitely Flashback: The Quest for Identity. It was on Genesis, SNES, computers, Jaguar, and a Sega CD "talkie" version.

its most def snatcher for sega cd...

( <--- check avatar )

you could use a gun with it, I remember using the lethal enforcers gun for it back in the day... but only certain parts used it and you didnt actualy need it either...

snatcher came out for the ps1 but only in japan... same with the 3do i think...

but yeah, anyone whos played snatcher will tell you its straight up blade runner... gillian seed was harrison ford no doubt

however it didnt play like out of this world at all... haha so maybe its not...

I actually redubed a version of snatcher for my sega cd and took out the cheesey jazz music in the beginning and replaced it with welcome to the machine by pink floyd...

I don't think it'd be Snatcher.

swlovinist, are you sure you're not messing up two games in your head?

yeah I mean, it didnt play like out of this world, but if theres one game thats a blade runner clone its snatcher... that and it used a gun makes it more like snatcher too

I doubt that it's Snatcher. Snatcher is an interactive novel, the whole game is played through menus except for the few light gun scenes. Out of this World has you controlling a character directly, and the game is 2D(3rd person view).

As for the style of Blade Runner, it's known as "cyberpunk". There's plenty of movies, novels, and games that follow that style.

I'd like to know what this game really is though, if it's Flashback or something else.
