So I picked up my Robotron 2084 cab last weekend and spent this week doing minor cleaning like getting rid of some spider webs, dust, grime, and scuffs; still have more to do. I also swapped out a newer pair of sticks as the other pair need cleaning and didn't match each other as well. It also came with all of the paperwork/operation manual from what I'm aware of.

Far view of the machine on.

Closer view and lighting can be seen clearer. Need to get the blue lights beneath the player 1 + 2 start buttons.

My not-so-great job on the control sticks. The previous setup had the wires soldered to the micro-switches, something I wanted to avoid having again. I'll need to clean it up sometime if it begins to act up, but is quite stable for the moment.

Picture of some gameplay, though blury.

Looks great! That's easily one of my all-time favorite games and cabs. How's the sideart? I've always loved it's simple yet unmistakable sideart. Also, what's your high score since you picked it up?

Congrats on the find.

Side art for the most part is nice with some nicks, dents, and scratches that don’t distract dramatically, but the footing needs the most work if possible. The left side is splitting a few inches up; though fine it would be nice to close the gaping. I’m not familiar with the touching up of artwork and it’s something I’d like to do if it can look good as there are a few solid black, white, and red areas that could use some cleaning up.

As for my high score, nowhere near the world records. LOL
The first thing I did was move difficulty down to 0 (out of 10) and changed the rules for beginning with 20 lives and 20,000 points for each extra life. I’ve managed to hit just over 400,000 points as the Tank levels totally rob me of lives along with heavy Hulk waves.

One of the more interesting things is prior to picking up the machine was the previous issue of Retro Gamer Magazine included a 4-page article discussing the making of Robotron 2084 with Eugene Jarvis. :)

I'm happy for you man. Also, somewhat, if not completely envious. :p

Nice! :-D

If you're not playing it on difficulty level 10, you're not playing.

Just sayin'.

If I held that level of skill in Robotron then yes. When I can start breaking a million points I'll begin cranking up the heat. Until then at least others that are playing it will have a chance to survive more than 5 seconds in each wave.
