As per the title - Is the monster arena in Chrono Trigger DS worth playing?

I just beat the main game (not game+). Is it worth playing the monster arean? I frigged around in there a little bit and it seemed kind of dumb.

Is it worth putting any time into?

It's a neat little diversion. It's really just an extra challange to get the new items to complete your collections, and there's not really a lot of depth to it. Keep in mind that your raised monster does NOT carry over in New Game+, but your raising items do.
