XBOX Live Arcade games for sale at Amazon.com

I for one think this is a great idea. Codes are sent to customers after purchase, and can even be gifted to others! They have a lot of games up already, but not all.

Note, they already have Galaga Legions (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001LRQ8SE/?tag=retrcom-20) on sale that isn't on sale on the XBLA Marketplace. It's 800pts online, only $4.97 on Amazon. If they keep this up, Amazon may be getting a lot of my money!

Ikargua is my favorite XBLA shooter. Omega 5 and Triggerheart Exelica are good too. I haven't played R-Type Dimensions yet but that looks like it could be worth buying if Amazon ever cuts the price (1200pts).

I also didn't realize you can buy Live points from Amazon. That's a good idea, as for some crazy reason I've never understood, I pay tax on points when I buy them online through MS.

You could make a silver US account and download them with that account. Then you can play them with your Canadian account.

Woo hoo! I've been wanting to pick up legions...that makes it worthwhile :D Hmmm....turns out that other stuff is the right price though... 800 points is $10, and Bionic Commando and 1942 are $10 on Amazon and 800 points on Live. Still gonna grab Legions though.

I loved the Triggerheart demo so it's nice to know the full game is good, maybe I'll get that eventually.

I played Ikaruga on GC too much but I'll check out the demo of R-Type and Omega 5.

I don't believe you could, actually. They'd be on your hard drive, but because you're logged in with a different account, it should see them as trials.

How on Earth can Amazon sell these cheaper than their XBLA price? I don't get it.

Once you buy them they are tied to the XBOX ID in the machine itself so any profile on that machine can play them. They are also tied to the gamertag so you could play them on a different 360 anytime that gamertag is signed in. Also as a side note once a year you can change the xbox all of your DLC is tied to in case you upgrade, one breaks, etc. So in short, the title will be tied to both the 360 and the gamertag when downloaded, where any profile on that specific 360 can play the full game, and any 360 with that profile signed in as well.

Though now i'm grumpy that I didn't get Galaga Legions for 4.97 since the sale lasted just the few days. I snooze I lose.

I picked up Doom... for... some reason? Not sure why. Is the online still bumping, like how it is with most old Arcade titles? Will I find someone if I leave my xbox on for a week and let it sniff out a contender?

Online was dead until this deal went live yesterday. Now the servers are packed with people trying to get their achievements.

Doom online is garbage anyways. Play it for the 15 minutes to get your 2 achievements and 100 kills and never go back. Its best that way.
