Probably nobody here has a clue what to do, but if you can read Japananese, it would be helpful to know what's going on here:

It's Daimakaimura, as you can see; unfortunately I'm using the floppy images and don't quite know what to do besides load them up (floppy A and B in FDD0 and FDD1, respectively; both are *.dim files).
Any general x68000 floppy image help/specific help for this title would be great. I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna be finding a hard drive image of the game anytime soon, unfortunately.

Progress update: Finally figured out that the A/R/I (or ARF) only comes up when you're trying to access an EMPTY floppy drive...oops. Here's what I get now:

Odd, since I THOUGHT that disk one and two were different. Hmm...
Looks like I'll have to input kanji somehow. AGH.

Your first mistake is that you're using Win68K rather than EX68. I'd recommend EX68 instead, because it's faster and easier to use. I have difficulty running more complex games on Win68K... the emulator doesn't recognize a file I need, so the emulated system keeps giving me memory errors.
Also, grab XM6 from the Japanese Computer Emulation Center (http://www.jcec.co.uk/X68emu.htm) and give that a whirl. I haven't tried it yet myself, but I intend to soon... the editor of JCEC highly recommends it.

Last version of EX68K I used...
*Stabs it through its collective eyes with a spork*
That thing was SO awful I'll never countenance using it again. Though, I suppose I'll try the newest version today. A year or so has gone by since the CVD's emulator was made...I'll check out the link.
That said, I don't think it would make this any easier. What I'm using is NOT a hard drive image, so no "CD Daimakaimura" is possible.
I believe that if I can just manage to get the right characters onto my clipboard, I should be able to start the game that way.
Finally, JCEC has been sadly outdated until just a few days ago, when they decided to post the newest version of Win68K highspeed that I've had since Feb. 14.
So thanks, but no thanks, if you get my meaning.

Kanji is my weak spot, after all these years...
But it's saying something like "Volume doesn't exist" and "File doesn't exist", though I'm not sure where it's seeing 1177Kbytes if nothing exists. *shrug*

Trust me, get XM6 from the Japanese Computer Emulation Center. You won't regret it... it's far and away the best of the three X68000 emulators. It's so easy to use that I might finally have a shot at convincing Joe to add a X68K section to the Digital Press emulation page.
Anyway, are you trying to play the game from a compact disc? I've never tried that before... all my X68K games reside on my hard drive. Burning them to a CD isn't a bad idea, though... it would save me a lot of space.

Well, I didn't believe you yesterday, but:
To clarify: There are disk images and hard drive images.
Hard drive images are loaded onto FDD0 and FDD1 in my emulator, and that works fine. Anybody can do it! My dog can do it!
Here is that I've tried to run the game from disk images in *.dim format, which doesn't make a difference to the emulator.
The thing is: It sees disk B, there's drivers on there. After that, I don't know what to do.
I've executed the "show all in directory" command in that second screenshot; and the text there shows the game name. Actually, looking at it again, it's showing, like you said, "There's nothing here"--I see the same set of characters whenever I try to access something that isn't there, etc.
So either disk A is bad, the emulator really doesn't like *.DIM images, or something else.
I will take your advice and try these other things. Thanks!

So, did you have any success with XM6?

I have to admit that I've been busy with other things. I'll update as soon as I do try it out.

(bump)
So, did you ever give that emulator a whirl?
