For some quick two player fun I like:
Smithereens!
It plays like Artillary Duel on the 2600. It is overly simple, but good fun for a short while.
Hmmm. Only two that I can think of would be KC Munchin and Quest For The Rings. I got Quest For The Rings at a thrift store brand new in the box. It was an amazing find. The game was never played and not a single piece for the gameboard was missing. The game was pretty complex for its time. I remember it being a lot of fun with multiple people playing. If you don't have it, get it.

I will second Smithereens. This one game is reason enough to have an O2. Make sure to get the Voice Synth add-on as it really makes this game much more fun. Great two player game that is always one of the biggest hits of my gaming parties. Have fun !!

K. C. Munchkin is a Pac-Man clone, but it's got some imagination thrown into it to set it apart. The maze shifts and changes, there's very few dots to eat but they move through the maze and the remaining dots speed up as you clear the board, and the monsters are far more aggressive than in Pac-Man.
As I have found out recently, Killer Bees is a really good game. You play as a swarm of bees and have to attack a group of robots moving around the playfield. You also have to contend with the killer bees that come out of hives on the sides and top of the screen. You've got a bug zapper that will wipe out any enemy bees that occupy the horizontal line you're on, but you can only use it once and it can only be recharged by killing another robot. This game starts to get fast. I mean, really fast. It's pretty impressive.
Attack of the Timelord is a nice little shooter, but gets a bit repetitious after a while. Still, it'll occupy a good chunk of time.

Ive seen the Quest for the Rings game on a video. After checking out some reviews. They said it was bad but I still want it. It looks like an interactive D&D Session recreating everything on the computer monitor.

KC's Crazy Chase is a mix of Pac-Man and Centipede and it's awesome.

Yeah, it's one of my favorites. I also enjoy KC Munchkin. I could never get into Quest For The Rings because my copy lacked any documentation. Didn't that game come with a board and playing pieces as well?

I'll second Killer Bees. It's a pretty fun and unique game. It's a bit harder to find than some of the others though.

I have to throw in the excellent and cheap homebrews. KTAA, Mr. Roboto and Plannet Lander.

I really enjoy both KC Munchkin and KC's Crazy Chase. I only have a dozen or so O2 games.

Yes it did, it's one of the ones in the big boxes.
I'm not much of a completist, but those games...you kind of need everything to make it all make sense

For the more technical-knowledgeable here:
What were the limits of the O2? What could it actually do? Was it possible, for example, for the characters in K.C. Munchkin to have been multi-colored?

Turtles, Killer Bees, Attack of the Timelord, KC Munchkin
These 4 are must haves. On KC, you can program your own mazes, which makes for even more fun.

Make sure it isnt the power supply. Those systems will run on almost any powersupply, just try a few more before you buy another system.

I bought one that didn't work at all before. I opened it up, cleaned out all the dust, put it back together, and it magically worked again. Your results may vary but it's worth a try.

It turned on but just got a purple screen. I checked everything and it seems that the rf connector ( some weird one) is damaged. I got one off ebay for about 20 in box with about 6 games incluiding!!! KC Krazy Chase

That RF box isn't a necessity. If your tv has coax input, you can buy one of the coax connectors that goes onto the av line from the O2 and simply hook in thru the tv's coax connection. I get the gold ones, usually keep 2-3 on hand since I tend to lose them, and they are pretty cheap.
Good luck getting it up and running. The O2 is a really good system to collect, very easy to find most of the games on the cheap, and most games are somewhat playable. There are bugs in a lot of the games (run thru the screen in football or soccer, getting stuck in Monkeyshines, etc). If you didn't get a Voice unit, you should - it is worth it and makes the games a little more fun.

You've just taken your first step into a larger world.
Well, okay, not larger, but a blockier and incredibly fun world. PDF recommends: Smithereens, Pick Axe Pete, KC Munchkin & KC's Krazy Chase, UFO, Attack of the Timelord, Baseball. Turles, Power Lords, Q*Bert, and don't forget readily available homebrews: Mr. Roboto, Planet Lander, Kill The Attacking Aliens, and repro releases like Tutankham and Shark Hunter.
You can get the homebrew carts from packratvg.com.

This was my first Gaming System, and was a gift from my late grandfather in 1981.
Yes the educational games were lacking, and the sports games very minimalistic even for that era. My favorite games were:
KC Munchkin
KC Crazy Chase
UFO
Pick Axe Pete -
Freedom Fighters
Atlantis-Probably the best game play IMO. Imagic
Demon Attack- Imagic
Smithereens
Quest of the Rings
Kill the Attacking aliens.
I no longer have my Odyssey 2, but have some of the games. However, I can still use my modded XBOX, and A320 to get my O2 fix in.
