GunCon on a PS3

Well, I just found a copy of Elemental Gearbolt tucked away somewhere in my closet, and seeing as I love Working Designs, I thought I might give it a go. Obviously I need to invest in a GunCon, but a GC wouldn't work on a PS3, would it? It's no problem for me to use it on my PS2, but I'd prefer it if a GunCon version or something similar would work with the PS3 and PS1 games.

I got Time Crisis 4 for the PS3 and it comes with as PS3-specific Guncon. The cord has a USB plug on the end, and it comes with a couple of infrared sensors you put on top of your TV.

You can play with a controller.

But you'll have to invest in a PS1/PS2 to play it with a GunCon. PS3 is a no-go.

Wont it work even if you connect the PS3 to a SDTV and use the "composite output port" (or what i shall call it, not the HDMI output port) on the PS3?

I haven't tried that, but the instructions are pretty specific that you need to set up the LED sensors for either a 4x3 or 16X9 TV.

Wasn't there some third party gun released for PS2 3-4 years ago that can be used on a HDTV? Anyone know if there's PS1 backward compatibility with that gun or if it can even be used on a PS3?

I bought a few Time Crisis 3 copies recently on clearance, I'll have to give them a try with EG tonight on my HDTV. (Rear projection)

Yes there were several but they are impossible to find now...out of production. Also I think they werre only available online for the most part. I believe they worked with the PS2 and PS1 game, but never actually bought one, they were pricey...

Sorry, i think that i was suppose to quote Oobgram instead, since he was mentioning PS1 games in general that had Guncon support, and that was what i was wondering about, if it is possible to play PS1 games with a Guncon on the PS3 if you use a SDTV and if you use the composite output port on the PS3 instead of using the HDMI output port when you connect the PS3 to the TV :)

But regarding Time Crisis 4, this game will probably only work with LED sensors indeed as you say :) I own Time Crisis 4 for the PS3 myself and i also had to use the LED sensors on my 4x3 SDTV.

I'd really like to get Time Crisis 4 and the gun. But it's not happening until Namco release Time Crisis 1 - 3, Project Titan & Crisis Zone and all the Point Blank games on PSN or a compilation disc.

That would be nice! :) It sucks alittle that the only G-Con game for the PS3 so far is Time Crisis 4. I wish someone released more light gun games for the PS3.
