I read about this just now and wow...really...
Information from the link. There is a picture as well!

This is a Game Boy hooked up to a nitrous oxide machine. It's called the PediSedate. Nope, nothing sketchy about this.

The PediSedate was designed for dentists, allowing them to distract kids with video games while they were drugged in prep for oral surgery. But hey, why limit it to dentists? You could use this to sedate children for any number of reasons! And with a name like PediSedate, you get all sorts of great ideas right off the bat. I'm so surprised this never caught on.

What a perfect device for a drifter to keep in his unmarked, nondescript van along with duct tape, plastic sheeting, and chloroform.

Thats just a little tiny bit creepy that someone thought of this. So many wrong potential uses.

The picture does look oddly creepy but I don't understand what it has to do with a gameboy. The site says that it can be hooked to a CD player instead of a game system, so I have no idea why it would even need to be connected to anything.

No, I do NOT, sir.

Anyways, I believe people are paranoid over this kinda thing nowadays - and that comes from the father of a 5-year-old girl. Seriously, how the heck would a pedophile get ahold of one of those things? Why would he even bother to? Looks like somethng a cartoon supervillain would do (are there any cartoon superpedos?).

In fact, once the device is used for its original purpose, it's seems like a pretty good idea.

... the hell is a dentist supposed to even WORK with that abomination in the way?

Well, the truth is that moral doubts aside, the thing works just fine. This kid is obviously trippin':

(Image taken from the Pedisedate's official website (http://www.pedisedate.com/Home.html). I'm starting to thing this whole thing is a joke, to tell you the truth.)

Not only does the device obscure the mouth, but the kids hands, arms, and the Game Boy are going to be there too.

My dentist had the right idea, and it sure as heck wasn't called PediSedate. Sega Genesis + Sonic 2 in the waiting room, Sega Genesis + Sonic Spinball in the X-Ray room. Eventually, each room got an SNES as well. I remember them ALWAYS looking beat up, so I'm sure he didn't spend as much on them as a "PediSedate."

I'm tempted to email this to Jack Thompson just for the incredible entertainment value of when it hits mainstream news outlets. And, of course, the requisite Pedobear and Chris Hansen photoshops.

PediSedate: The Only Game Boy Accessory Designed to Drug Children

Actually, iirc, there was a GB cart that helped children with their blood sugar levels for diabetes or something...can't remember what it was called.

So where can I get one of these CIB?

Lysdexia is in dire need of a Preview button (http://i.gizmodo.com/people/Lysdexique/)
10:07 AM (http://i.gizmodo.com/5212998/pedisedate-the-only-game-boy-accessory-designed-to-drug-children#c12104988) I'm sure Nambla is incredibly happy to hear about this

My thoughts exactly.

Why does the gameboy need to be attached? Can't they use the old method and just hand the kid a loose gameboy?

I'm guessing it also powers the helmet.

That looks like an audio cable.

Might be more fun if it were a real Game Boy peripheral. Every time you get a Tetris, you could get another whiff of the funny gas.

What is it with these dentists always messing with video game hardware (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26749) anyway?

As far as I can tell this PediSedate thing is real and I absolutely must have one.

Doing dental work, the kid better be really good at Tetris then.

Its fake. There is a video listed on the website, and it gives the patent number #6,697,363. But when you search the patent number as listed, its nothing even close. Thusly, must be fake.

Edit: The video looks sort of legitimate, but patent number issues would lead me to claim fake.

This thing is really old apparently, that's why it uses a Gameboy Color rather than a GBA or DS.

I don't see how it works. It looks like a nitrous mask with headphones.
How does it interact with the GBC?
