Fallout New Vegas. From the people who made KOTOR 2. Sounds good to me...

I should add, the most logical reason for Bethesda to farm this one out is the main team is probably hard at work on Elder Scrolls V. Just a (very likely) guess.

hells yeah. figured it'd be next gen before we'd see another fallout. :)

just hope obsidian gets more time than they did with kotor2.

Pretty cool. I sincerely hope all goes well with this one, because nothing could be more disappointing than a medicore/crappy Fallout.

Hopefully thats one reason, but another is that Obsidian was founded by some guys that worked on the original Fallout games.

Great news! I look forward to seeing a ghoul Elvis impersonator.

I'm not sure who puts out a buggier product, Obsidian or Bethesda...

Obsidian wasn't just bad on KotOR, Neverwinter Nights 2 was an unplayble mess up until about a year after it's release, even after 30+ patches.

Oh wow.

I was disappointed that Obsidian quit working on that Aliens RPG, but it's awesome that the Fallout people are making another Fallout.

Bethesda did a great job with the license, but this screams potential.

Due to the lack of interest in PS3 users gettang any kind of addons for Fallout 3 and Oblivion, and the guaranteed RROD if I buy it for my 360, I am going to pass on this game. The company plays favorites.

I wouldn't write off the PS3 getting new DLC yet. You'll be getting all the Fallout 3 DLC in a "Game of the Year" edition at some point. Same thing will probably apply to this new Fallout game.

Besides, so what if one console gets it first? I played so much Fallout 3 on the 360, I'm sick of it now. I don't even want to play the newest DLC for a long time. Bethesda got it right with The Shivering Isles. They released it a whole year after Oblivion hit. After a year the game felt fresh again. It was fun to play through. These new DLC episodes that get released just a few months after most people finish the game gets to be too much IMO.

I realize no one is forcing me to play these things...I'm just saying.

I kindof hate how developers end up doing that. They make the entire game and then there's DLC only a couple months later. If it's something that was created with the game, don't be a bunch of fucking douchebags and force people to purchase it instead of including it with the game.

Kindof like how Resident Evil 5 was released and Capcom is like. "Hey guys, you can now pay for the multiplayer versus mode which is nothing more than the Mercenary maps with the ability to attack the other character." Don't forget the Street Fighter 4 additional costumes that came out right after the games release.

Some DLC is different though. GTA Lost and the Damned or Oblivion Shivering Isles. DLC that is actually worth paying for. There's also Unreal Tournament 3 and their additional maps and the titan pack that was available for download later on for free.

Tomorrow is the day.

Who is picking this one up? I've got the CE Preordered already and can't wait.

I am. I've got release-day delivery from Amazon, so I'll be counting down the minutes until UPS arrives tomorrow morning. Can't wait.

Amazon release-day delivery FTW!

I haven't played Fallout 3 since the last DLC came out (Aug. 2009) and was trying to hold off until New Vegas. That all fell apart this past weekend and I ended up just wandering around the wasteland for several hours. I completed every quest long ago...I was basically just walking around the entire map, looking for things to shoot.

Anyway...I can't wait to start New Vegas. Wandering around at my own pace, level 1, scrounging for armor, ammo, and a shitty rusty pistol as my only weapon. I love it.

"Post-apocalyptic-open world-FPS-RPG's" are the perfect genre.

I did something similar, I finished off the DLCs that I left long ago. I had to 1550 that before New Vegas.

I can't wait to see what sorts of bugs people find like from Fallout 3.

...Who is starting on Hardcore mode? I'm not sure if I want to worry about all that nonsense until another runthrough, but the achievement whore in me will probably start off on Hardcore.

Bugs? There's bound to be a ton at first. Remember the Bethesda motto: Save...and save often.

Who is starting on Hardcore mode?

Very tempted. I guess I have to see what it entails. All I know is the extra difficulty and a requirement to eat food/drink water to stay alive. Doesn't sound too bad.

I was going to get this day one but after buying Fallout 3 twice; I'll wait until the inevitable GOTY edition and pick up the whole package

I preorder it from Gamestop, but I doubt I will get it on the release date. They ship tomorrow and end up getting the game in 4-7 business day. :frustrated:

I'm not entirely interested in this game, but seeing all the ads around for it made me want to play Fall Out 3 again. I seem to be enjoying it a lot more than I did the first time, mainly because I wasn't too into FPS games at the time, but I guess a lot can change in 2 years.

I'll probably end up doing the same as well, as I also bought Fallout 3 twice, since I couldn't resist picking up the GOTY edition for a rather cheap price on Black Friday last year.

Not really caring for the types of missions so far. Mostly gimme this or kill that person type stuff. I'm hoping it gets better.

It plays like Fallout 3. I can't get use to weapon & ammo modding.

I love the game but my god is it ever buggy. When I first bought it, it crashed in 10 minutes. Its a rarity if it doesn't freeze once an hour. I'm playing it on a ps3. It's in desperate need of a patch.

Same. I bought it the other week and have had these same issues. At one point, I had about 5 FPS in a casino. Restarted the game and it was fine. I've also had various problems with freezing where I have to restart the console.

Never experienced these problems with Fallout 3 but I only purchased that earlier this year after it had been patched plenty of times.

I've played just under 50 hours and have only had the game lock up once. I've had two other times where I've gotten stuck in walls and had to reload the last save. That's it for glitches.

I have the 360 version and am playing it installed from the hard drive on a 360 slim. From what people are saying, this seems to be the ideal setup for glitch-free Fallout action.

I'm about 40 hours in on 360 version. Two lockups so far. I did get stuck behind some barrels at one point but I was able to fast travel out of the predicament. Great game. Boone is a beast!
