SNK have decided to go off on a bit of a random tangent; the next KoF is a 2D vert shooter for XBLA. Odd decision to say the least...

...to say the least. Those screenshots make me believe that it's more than just "inspired" by Shikigami.

Hopefully, they'll put a spin on it and combine the fighting genre with the shmup. Fighting bosses with traditional fighter controls might make it a refreshing experience.

Hmmm.... I like vertical shooters, I like KOF. But I don't think I like this concept... :|

I'd much rather have Star Radish than this.
Out of all the potential game types you could shoe-horn the KoF franchise into, surely a shmup is the worst choice? Even Days of Memories is a little more fitting for the characters.

I think it COULD be awesome, but I have to say that I won't really know what to think until I see more.

I was kinda hoping they WOULD end up making that title.
Guess it'll never happen.
This game looks like one of those doujin games that get sold at comic conventions in Japan.

Am I the only one that thinks "Daicon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzy1RNJBUo4)" when I hear "Star Radish?" Out of the three, I'd rather play Daicon.
