I realized today that I never spent my $20 TRU gift card that I got for buying RE5 on release day and I need to use it before April 30th, but I don't know what to get! There have been lots of new releases, but most are getting crap reviews or just look bad. So here are some that I'm considering:
MadWorld (Wii) - would get this pretty much because I don't use my Wii for anything anymore
Resistance: Retribution (PSP) - kinda like the above, looking for decent PSP games
HAWX - I like flying games, but I'm not an addict
Wanted (360) - looks interesting I guess
Wheelman (360) - love driving games! but how is this one?
Chronicles of Riddick - good reviews, leaning toward this game.
Ninja Blade (360) - don't know much about it at all, XPlay thought it was okay.
So anyway, what are your opinions? If you could have one of these (or something that I'm missing) for free, which would it be? ( I have other gift cards that will be making this game totally free!)

If you've never played Escape From Butcher Bay on Xbox then you owe it to yourself to pick up Dark Athena. Holy. Shit.
One of my favorite games of the last generation and I can't wait to dive into the new campaign.

Personally I thought Butcher Bay was good, but really short, like really really short.
I remember when I had it on Xbox I beat it in like 5 hours. I know it has the new episode, but still the game screams bargain bin to me.
A buddy of mine has Madworld, I would say get that. It's like Final Fight on serious steroids with loads of blood, but the game is actually fun and the boss fights are monumental. The minigames also add to the replay value, though if there is one thing I could say about Madworld, it's that it is best in short doses, if you had a bad day at work there is no better game to play!

I think none of those are great choices. MadWorld will probably be $20 within a month or two given its poor sales. It is actually a pretty good game, but way too short.
Resistance is on sale at Best Buy for $30 this week, so you would be essentially wasting $10 of your gift card if you bought it at TRU. A good game, but not one that is a must have immediately.
HAWX is about to hit $20, as are Wanted and Wheelman given their very poor sales. Riddick is good if you don't have the Xbox version, but it's kinda overpriced for a re-release with a mediocre sequel tacked on which is not really that faithful to the original or very fun.
Ninja Blade is just plain bad.
I would look into some of the bigger releases from past months like Killzone 2 or Street Fighter IV if you don't already have those. The games above are too mediocre to justify a purchase at full price, gift cards or not.

I actually don't have either of those two (SF4 or KZ2). I never even thought about SF4 until I saw the employees at a gamestop going at it and the graphics are great! Seems like a lot of fun, so maybe I'll add it to the list.
THANKS!

Wheelman is a piece of shit. The demo is also on the PSN or XBL if you want to experience how crappy it is.

Is Wheelman the Vin Diesel game?

I'd take the $20, and put it towards a Heroscape set. Fun miniatures battle game with kick-ass terrain :)

You could do what I did with mine, Advance Wars and Track & Field for the DS. $10 each.

I don't have a personal DS (my boys each have one, though) that's why I haven't posted that I'm looking for any of those games. I'm leaning toward MadWorld, Killzone 2, Street Fighter IV, or the Riddick game at this point.

If you're into multiplayer, I say Killzone 2 or Street Fighter 4. I can only see MadWorld dropping in price anyways.

Just don't waste it on Wanted. Play the demo over Xbox live or PSN and you will know why. Saying it's mediocre would be giving it too much credit. As for the other games, they'll drop in price within the next 6 months(make sure to keep an eye on Target because they'll clearance it out before everywhere else, but you already know this thanks to my clearance thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1546180#post1546180)).
Also, have you considered getting either a points card for XBL, PSN or Wii? Because then you could get a few good arcade games for a low price and have some points left over for the next time you want to purchase something.

Not that anyone is watching this thread in great anticipation, but I wanted to end it by saying that I went with Killzone 2. Pretty much for the reason that I don't have much to play on my PS3 right now, and this is supposed to be THE game to show its' power. After gift cards and coupons, the game cost me $4.11.
Not bad.

You fool... you could have gotten 10 hot wheels cars, 20 chocolate bars or 40 packs of gummy worms.
