hi i just got this beast in today and the genesis portion works fine but the cd portion the green light keeps blinking but wont spin the disc...im using a genesis model 2 adapter..is it because the amps are too low on this...i got a replacement adapter on the way that has the right volts and amps...could this cause the cd not to spin up..thanks

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT USE A GENESIS ADAPTOR.

It will damage the system!

Yup, the Genesis 2 power supply might be too underpowered. I'd say that you should try the correct power supply first.

He's using a Genesis 2 power supply. The polarity is correct.

I have been told by a good authority on X'Eyes on this forum that shortchanging on the amperage that much will cause damage.

Oh, that. I thought you were referring to a Genesis 1 power supply being of the opposite polarity. The connectors are different but with some force he could be able to put it in.

As I said to him, the Genesis 2 power supply is too underpowered to run a X'Eye, I didn't mean to imply that he should use it.

yea no damage was caused..the only part that worked was the genesis part...the guy i bought this from gave me the wrong adapter so i had to buy one that had the right volts and amps on it...everything should be ok once i get that

Might it be that he was the one who damaged it in the first place by not using the correct adapter?

That's not what I'm saying. I said that maybe the previous owner was the one to damage it, not you. Since he provided you with an incorrect power supply it's not so far fetched to assume that maybe he was using that one.

k problem is all set...i found out the issue was the cd door not hitting the button inside the machine that causes the cd to spin,i modified it so it hits it...is there a way to close this thread seeing im all set with this problem and i also got a universal plug that runs at 9.5v and 1.5 amps so im all set with that now

A few months ago I was basically you. I bought an XEye off of ebay, bought that exact same adaptor. (Mines from the RadioShack Canadian equivalent) and the cd side wouldnt work. It was just the little door extension that presses that little switch, it was just offset a bit. All I had to do was take the cover off and put it back on and it resat itself.
