Behold... the achievements!

About time this classic made it's way to modern consoles. Hopefully there will be some special stuff not found on the Genesis version.

I still haven't played the original(or the GBA remake) of this game. I wonder how much this one will be priced.

I never did get around to playing this game. At 400 points I might finally take the dive. If it's more than that... probably not. I still find it funny that for an ultimate collection, Sonic's UGC didn't have this already on it. :P

Well, it's been on GameTap, PS2 (Treasure Box) and Wii. From what I hear it's a fairly straight port, akin to what you saw on the other consoles.

It wasn't on the UGC because it's not a Sega game. Gunstar Heroes is Treasure's baby.

I believe Sega owns it and just contracted Treasure to develop it. They've published the Virtual Console, GBA version, and the Sega Ages Treasure collection at least. Seems unlikely they'd still be involved if they were just the publisher nearly a decade ago.

And they're publishing the XBLA port in their next set of XBLA titles to make it out with Digital Eclipse doing the job, so safe to say its going to be like Sonic1/Sonic2/Ecco/SORII and just be a straight emulation with achievements and possibly online multiplayer (If it has multiplayer, its one of the few really loved Genesis titles I've yet to play so I wouldn't know).

I suspect it didn't make it to the Genesis collection mostly because it was strong enough to stand on its own as a $5 download (If its priced the same as Sega's first batch of titles, hope they're not going to follow the trend to $10) and the Genesis collection had enough big names to attract people already.
