Ok guys Im new to here, but i have been in other forums for years.
Im :rockets: a gun collector.

I have a mame machine :

few youtube stuff for you its called " insain in the mamebrain "
I have tons of vintage consoles , close to 40 so far, from 5 different atari 2600's ( woody 6 swtich woody 4 switch, vader , jnr rainbow ,uk black)
Colecovision, intellivison, vectrex, a few pongs, some eserteric like a soundic programmable ( pong variant ) Nes with powerglove ( yay i always wanted a powerglove ) heaps of accessories, the only consoles missing of note are :
Neogeo, atari jaguar, amiga cdi. there are others but ive got heaps..

Ive also got a MAD handheld collection, with 49 game & watch games ( not quite complete im workign on it ) al of the coleco miniarcades ( 6 in total galaga, miss pacman, pacman, donkey kong, donkey kong jnr and frogger - i think there was centipede but i havent seen one.
and the new stuff like ds , dsi, gamegear, lynx, gameboy variants..

ANYWAY.. not to talk about my collection, but ive got a lot.. What i want to do is .... complex.
I want to build a game room, and have all the consoles connected to one tv, using a series of 16 port switch boxes.. for the games that run Standard compostie or componet out like ps3..
thats easy to do with a 16 port switch box.. but im confused as to how to connect all my pong variants that require RF connection ( my tv has the input and u scan in the channel and play it.. but how do i get multiple rf conections and multiple channel scans?

Some help here please.
Thanks guys

Why did you post the same topic twice? Spamming the forum is not a good way to introduce yourself.

but im confused as to how to connect all my pong variants that require RF connection ( my tv has the input and u scan in the channel and play it.. but how do i get multiple rf conections and multiple channel scans? No idea. I have a bunch of systems whose RF cables I just swap at the switchbox on my tv. It doesn't have everything actually hooked up at once, but it's pretty close. I just plug in the cable for the machine I want and that's it. Good luck with your project, though, sounds ambitious... like an old-fashioned telephone operator switchboard, only for connecting Pong machines.

Almost all systems that use an RF switchbox to connect to the TV use a standard RCA type connection cable to connect the console to the switchbox. Why not just connect these cables to one of those 16 port switches you're talking about, connect an old NES automatic switchbox to the output, and connect that to your TV or VCR.

Of course this wouldn't work with systems that don't use the standard RCA type connector (eg. Odyssey, Genesis...).

Daisy chaining the boxes is an option to some degree, at least for the automatic switchboxes. The signal loss is pretty dramatic though.

Finally, just buy a switchbox with screw-type connectors. I know that these exist, but I doubt that they make versions with more than a few inputs. Not that it would be hard to build your own, all that you need is a single pole rotary switch, connectors, wire, and an enclosure.

(or you could hook up each system to its own VCR, and hook up the VCR's to a 16 port switchbox...)

Hope that at least one of these solutions is the one that you've been looking for. Good Luck!

Hi yes i apologise I didnt intentionally double post my mozilla crashed after I clicked post.. When i reloaded all the tabs, i wasnt sure if it went through becasue it came up with post icon again.. so i clicked post.. Thanks for shutting it down.

I will introduce myself in the other thread..

I did a search, quite an extensive search already through the how to section and couldnt find anything of a similar Ilk, hence I posted here.

I work in AV and guys at work did suggest something..
I was looking toward something like a 16port swictcher however it only takes composite, like (yellow red white rca cables )
You can get an Rf modulator, that turns it from Rca to RF, i want to go the the other way like an rf DEodulator like in the old vcrs but hooking up 20 odd vcr's isnt feasbale.

so.. we decided to use multi rf amplifier with a rf disributor ( 8 in 1 out )
tune each indivual unit into a channel, lable it as chan 1 or 2 or 3.. repeat the process.. and the simply turn the system you want to use on.. and turn the others off.

simple :)

01. Plug all of your RF machines into one switch box.

02. Buy one of those adapters from Radio Shack that converts RF to coax.

03. Run the out of that switch box to the coax in on your television.

02. Buy one of those adapters from Radio Shack that converts RF to coax.

Have you done this yourself?

Radio shack sell Rf Modulators, however this isnt whats required.. an rf modulator conversts Coax to RF, not the other way.

I have figured it out anyway.. Im goign to use a 8 in 1 out RF splitter with rf amplifier, connect all the systems togetehr, tune in each system sperately once they are on. Lable them, then once i want to play one.. I simple turn it on select the channel. Easy.

If you can find a gppd RF splitter with amplifier please let us know what model you got and where and how well it is working. I am currently using three RF switch boxes and the wiring is annoying. I also have an RF demodulator (of a sort), though I am not surrently using it. I have tried an RF splitter before but it was a thrift store find and did not work. I have been hesitant to buy another (they aren't that cheap) until I am certain it'll work...

Thanks...and good luck.
