View Full Version : Did all copies of Strider II for PS1 have switched disks?

Strider II for PS1 had two disks, one disk for Strider II, and a bonus disk with a good version of Strider. The only thing is the original Strider was on the Strider II disk, and Strider II was on the original Strider disk.

Anyone know if they were all printed this way?

Yep. All copies were goofed up.

It would have been funny if the first initial batch were fucked up and Capcom labeled them "Fucked Up Collectors Edition"

LOL

And if Capcom ever fixed it you'd have people on here asking "is mine the rare fucked up version?"

I always get some amusement from the irony of when something's value goes up because of an actual flaw.

I remember that annoying the hell out of me when I got this game. I always wondered if they ever fixed it...I guess not.

It would have gotten fixed if it had sold well enough and or gone to GH status. However it got a single run (and it wasn't a huge run to begin with) and that was it.

would have been interesting to own a backwards set and a correct set. I wonder if a lot of people traded the game in with just the Strider II print disk and kept the actual Strider II on the Strider I disk.

I wonder if stores had separate prices for each disc? They're two separate games on two separate discs, so I wonder if any stores tracked them like the GTA sets and sold the discs individually....

Highly unlikely since it was just a single disc case that had 2 discs in it. Unless the games were being sold 'loose' I don't see stores splitting them up. Besides it says all over the back of the box that its got both games in inside.

Stores did that with the GTA discs (as of late, in particulat with the GTA boxed sets, and the DOA set on XBox) because each games was in its own case. That was no the case with Strider 2.

Stu, can you include this information in the PS1 guide section next time you send along an update? This is exactly the kind of info we should have in there!

It's already there, though worded slightly differently. I can change that though.

'A 2-CD set. One of the discs is actually Strider 1. All copies had the disc labels accidentally printed on the wrong discs!'

Should have figured you were on top of it, thanks!
