Dreamcast VGA Blues :( Sonic Adventure won't Boot

I just bought a Dreamcast VGA box so I can play my Dreamcast on my widescreen monitor, and I can get the main screen to come up with the memory manager, but as soon as I try to play Sonic Adventure the dreamcast logo comes up in widescreen, then converts to 4:3, and then I get a black screen. I am playing a real version of Sonic Advnture, and I set my monitor to 4:3. Any ideas why I can't get this game to load? I seen on a Dreamcast VGA compatability list that this game is suppose to work. I read online that some people use boot discs to get some games to work in VGA. But I am assuming they are playing burnt games, or imports. Do I need a boot disc to play english games, on a english system, in VGA?

yea, by no means does every game work with the VGA box. The best thing to do is consult the back of the game packaging and see, and both of my greatest hits Sonic Adventures say nothing about being VGA compatible so no boot disk will work to my knowledge. :( sorry man.. no dice!
