If you're just talking about the basic paddle controllers, no they are not. They're worth about as much as the regular Atari sticks (in otherwords, not much).

If you're talking about the "jitter" effect it's the easiest thing in the world to fix. Just open up the back, spray in some electronic degreasing agent, give the "big turny knobs" a couple twists to work it in, and reassemble. Good as new.

Personally I'd pay more for a hard little stick than a big turny knob. But thats just me.
