After finally getting over my fear that I was going to blow my MVS board up, I decided that today would be the day I turn on my MVS Supergun for the first time. I triple checked all the wire connections (all done with wire nuts BTW), and made sure the power lines were correct and the fuses were right.
So sitting on my floor, CPU power switch in hand, I pressed the button and waited for the inevitable snap crackle pop and accompanying smoke. To my great surprise some garbled graphics started appearing on my TV. Having seen many arcade machines boot up I didn't panic, and after 3 seconds or so I saw that familiar Neo Geo logo and Samurai Shodown.
I have an Neo Geo MVS system on my TV!
Now as soon as the controllers get here I can actually play it. Still it's cool too see Magician Lord in all it's glory on my TV. The s-video graphics are nice and crisp thanks to my Jrok RGB converter and it even has stereo sound! SO much better than that crappy AES system I used to own... :)
