I've been playing the crap out of this game, and I'm starting to get more prolific at it. I want to know how I stack up to the best. My high score to date is 754,460. That is starting from Web 1. I keep getting stuck on Web 41 or 42, and I end up scoring about 100,000 points just on that last stage cause I have so many lives left.

I haven't been playing it as of late, but my high score is somewhere around 450,000. I posted it on the High Score Board, I'm ReYo. I've only gotten as high as level 27, so I'm not that great at it yet. I should really hook my Jag back up for a few more games...

So that was you who I bumped eh? :)

Wait til you get past the Red webs, and into the Yellow webs, sheesh!! There's another new song to play too, which is a great tune, but you have to deal with electro-tankers. You can't miss a powerup or your pretty much dead meat. I haven't been able to get to Warp on the Yellow webs yet, and I believe there's another style of warp challenge stage in there. I really want to see it, thats why I've been playing so much.

I haven't played the Jag version of Tempest 2K in awhile...I'm pretty sure my high score from web 1 is over a million points. Maybe I'll pull it out soon and see how I can do...of course, one such game lasts over an hour so I better make sure I have plenty of time on my hands when I do start...

Well, I went off and played it for an hour...I must be rusty as I only managed to score about 656,000 points. I'll try again tomorrow...might be time to try my other Jag games out as well.

I never played it for a high score. The 2000 mode seems way too easy. With the AI bot helping you out and at the rate you can accumulate extra lives, who can't play this to the end? I would always end my game because of boredom, not because of I ran out of lives. Do fans of arcade Tempest like this game? I'm the biggest arcade Tempest fan but I never liked T2K much. It doesn't feel like or have the challenge of the arcade version. Big scores in T2K never impressed me. It just seems like whoever wants to sit there playing it the longest will end up with the highest score.

I loved playing the arcade version of Tempest, both in 2000 and in an actual arcade lol. I could never get enough of it, but I didn't really get to play it much. And as for YOU...

Don't worry... I'll just have to bring it back out and take back my high score spot :P 'Cuz you know, it ain't over until that little yellow < is fried.

I wasn't aware of a high score board. Is that part of the DP site?

Yeah, if your using Frames on this site, you should be able to see it on the Navigation bar on the left.

Thanks...wow, only 2 Jag games on that site! I could probably get my name on that page a lot by submitting new games...I doubt I'll do that since I don't play that many Jag games but I will go for the Tempest 2K high score. I'll bookmark this site and consider challenging for some others if I think I'm good enough. Thanks for the link.

Well, I tried to enter a high score for Tempest 2000 (I did get over a million points) at the page listed above but, for some reason, it won't let me register. Oh well... :(

I definitely agree - 2000 mode is way, WAY too easy. The original game blows T2000 out of the water.

Temepest 2000 is good in its own right, but it's not a "go-to" game for me.
