I was reorganizing my PS2 games and notice I had 2 copies of Armored Core 2, but one disk has a shiny layer on it. The other is just normal.

Did this game ever become a greatest hits or have a special edition? Or are their a lot of games out there with different disk?

If it was a GH title (which it never became) it would have a red background at the bottom of the disc where the PLAYSTATION 2 writing is instead of black.

Without seeing a picture of it, i'd venture that one copy missed getting a layer put on it.

There is a picture. I knew about the red on the game for GH, but I wasn't sure how the disk on this game was suppose to be.

I didn't think about the disc getting missed in production, I just found it odd.

Just checked my non-GH copy-- it's not shiny either.

Could someone have put that scratch guard plastic coating over the shinny one?

You should put it on Ebay as rare.

It looks like it just missed the white base layer when it was getting manufactured. That stuff happens all the time.

RARE! Like every other game on eBay. All of them. Even the... common... ones...? wtf!?

My FF12 collector's edition isn't rare? :(

To tell you the truth. I think the non collector's version of FF12 is probably more rare than the collector's version. If Square-Enix did that with all their games they'd probably have everyone buying them at full price. Too bad there's no way to see how many collector's versions versus regular versions were sold.

Sorry that this post is completely off topic, the AC2 question looks to have already been answered.
