So I have PS2 Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=170328306001) up on eBay right now. Decent pictures and description, I think. Similar auctions have worked for me in the past, anyway.

Well, this morning I get this question:
Hello, Please describe the disk condition (i.e. are there any scratches). Also, does it come with the manual? Thanks

- rpgs1rule

I've said it before how I try never to underestimate eBay stupidity, but jeebus.

... for those that don't want to click over to my listing, it has a written description of the disc, case, and manual. There is a picture of all three, a picture of just the manual, and a picture of the data side of the disc.

As Forest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does." Obviously this person didn't even bother to look at this listing.

If I'm looking to buy a rarer title, I honestly don't trust the description a lot of the time. I hate having to read between the lines to figure out if the seller is purposely being evasive. Your description was indeed thorough and explained the condition in great detail. Maybe the guy just decided to spam 10 different sellers with the same question regarding condition?

I get that all the time. My auction's even says READ THE DECRIPTION in big letters .

Most of the time I just ignore those questions or I refer them to the auction description.

Yeah, this is sadly common. My stock response is "If you didn't believe the item description, why would you believe the email?"

I love it when I put in clear words that what you see in the pictures and the detailed description is what you get with the auction. Now, I make SURE that everything is clearly visible in my pictures and my descriptions are crystal clear. What happens next? People ask me if my item comes with games, an AC adapter, extra controller, etc.. I gave up worrying about it a long time ago and chalk it up to human nature:)

well with this forsale, you have too read in-between the lines, in his header: GOOD CONDITION.....in his describtion, he states: EXCELLENT CONDITION......

theres a big differents between the too

You must have looked at a different auction.

The only place "good" appears anywhere, having anything to do with this listing is the stock eBay pre-filled description thingy, and even there 'good' is preceded by 'very'. Most people would probably have chosen 'like new' for this item, but since there are actually very very light scratches (as stated), it isn't 'like new' for my standards. The adjectives I used are nice, awesome, and excellent. And the 'nice' isn't directly speaking of condition, but IMO more speaking to the whole package (good game, good condition, hard to find, etc). Awesome I would contend is pretty close to excellent.

Yes, my feathers are ruffled. Happy? :grumble:

Your auctions are expertly done. Don't let the 10-year-olds who can't spell get you down.
