Okay, sure we know that a lot of the community games are crap on Xbox Live Marketplace, like Rumble Massage (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550179/), TV Calibration (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8025855014c/]Fireplace[/url], and [URL="http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802585501a2/).
But there has to be some picking up. What are some of your favs? I nominate Bricks4ever (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550195/), an Arkanoid clone priced at a nice 200pts ($2.50 USD) 50 levels, plus more levels with a scrolling playfield. A much better buy than the FULL game of Arkanoid Live! at 1200pts..($15.00 USD!) (http://www.vitalsecurity.org/2009/05/when-is-full-game-not-full-game.html)
So Bricks4ever (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550195/) is my nomination check the free demo out!, achievements are nice, but not necessary. I just want great gameplay.

Hey now, Rumble Massage has many uses... err, personal applications, no wait, I meant... actually screw it.
Anyway, Blueprint Racer 4D is technically impressive and looks great. Supercow is a lot of fun despite being relatively generic. Also enjoyed the Carnival game with a name that currently escapes me.

There is a similar thread on NeoGAF however I like this site more in terms of user reviews. I am going to try some of those out though and report back here!
Great Idea!!

can't go without mentioning weapon of choice (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550102/). control scheme's a little odd, but once you get used to it, you'll fall for the insane weapons, bizarre enemies, and hair-brained plot.

I'm actually leading a team to develop an RPG for Community Games. The story outline is finished, and we're working on maps, sprites, modification to the engine, etc. If anybody here is interested in joining a team, we have a few openings, mostly art and mapping.
To my knowlege, there's no real console-style RPGs on CG at the moment. There's one or two that are sidescrollers, but nothing in the traditional FF/DQ format. Also, there's nothing on there with a solid story, most of the games are arcade-style. This project aims to do both.

I recommend SuperCow, a cutesy 2d platformer that feels very 90's.
$5, quite easy but fun.

i tried that one, but besides it being super-easy, the controls were very slippery/floaty. was well animated though.
thought of another one: drumkit (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802585501a3/).
not a game, but an interesting diversion if you've an interest in drums. you can assign each pad to a different drum (from a pretty big list) and then play along to any song playing on your xbox (assuming you've got the ears to pick out the drum parts).

By several dozen parsecs, the best community game on there is Miner Dig Deep (http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550182/). Yes, it's a mining sim. But yet, it's so utterly addictive in a way only games like Sim City and Civ can achieve. Pure videogame crack in its most distilled form.
Also keep an eye out for a future one called 'Arcade Induction'. I hear it'll be pretty good. And have fantastic narration (if I have anything to say about it). ;)

I've only bought two Live Community Games, after reading good things on the internet about them and I enjoyed them both a lot so I should mention them here:
Artoon
This is a game where you have to guide an ever bouncing blob on to different platforms to colour them in and hit the exit. The music and visuals are amazing - with a kind of Rez-like synaesthetic vibe and a couple of good ideas, definitely one to check out the demo to see if you like the style and the action-puzzle gameplay.
Groov
This is a Geometry Wars style twin-stick shooter but again, pretty much a music game. Each of your shots adds a bit of the melody. And when you shoot enemies they hang around (in white or transparent, can't remember) until they dissapear on the beat, each giving off a sound. So the whole thing is one huge aural delight. However, the graphics aren't great and the control is a bit slidey compared to Geometry Wars and out of the limited game modes you can see that it soon becomes easy to exploit a few tricks. However, as an experience, it is amazing and should be tried.

Blueprint looks awesome from the images I saw online but I can't find it to DL- is it MIA or am I just missing it?

Oh my, you guys aren't aware of what Blueprint Racer really is... It's technically impressive because it's a re-skin of a Microsoft-sponsered starter kit. The starter kits are free example games that are intended to be used as the base for an original game, but since you take copyright of whatever derivative works you make with them, any simple edit allows you to sell your "mod." As such, the XNA community has been rather vocal with their negative opinions on the matter.
Check out the original starter kit: http://creators.xna.com/en-US/starterkit/racinggame
My project is using the RPG starter kit as a base, but with lots of code modification and 100% new content, which I personally feel is what SHOULD be done with the starter kits. I don't have a problem with people re-skinning kits, but I don't respect it very much.
