You think it will be worth the $50 dollars for this game? Seems like (to me atleast) there aren't too many Wii games I would shell out $50 for, and I'm not sure if this game is one of them. Its looks pretty cool, but I might have to wait. What do you think?

Well one thing for certian. No one can claim nintendo over exposed this series.

I will be buying it because there track record on punch-out games have always been excellent.

Honestly, this is the one game that has finally made me decide to get a Wii.

I've always had faith in Nintendo, so I am a bit biased here, but really-do you think they'll mess up one of their most wanted franchises on their flagship console in a crucial point in its lifespan? People want to love the Wii, and Nintendo wants to give them reasons. I think it will easily be worth $50.

I have a feeling that this game will be a must-have for the Wii Library. I'm really excited to see how it will play as well, seeing as it will have NES style controls and Motion-sensor ones as well.

Here's top hoping it's a faithful adaption that's really good.

$50 may be a little too steep for me, even though I love Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out, and the Wii version looks awesome. $35 sounds like the sweet spot for me.

Agreed. This was the pending release that was going to make me finally buy one. The recent trailer with Doc Louis was just too much.

Super Punch-Out is one of my favorite games of all time, so there's no way I'm not buying the Wii version on release day. The trailers look great and everything I've read makes me think this will be a must-own.

I don't buy new games or systems, but this game looks so good, I will certainly pick it up when I find it at a good price.

It's easy to be confident on this game, Nintendo has too many high skilled people to mess up with an easy target like Punch Out.

The control of the Wii is ideal for this game ... must-buy

The ultimate die-hard Punch Out fans will need to pick up one of these (http://www.amazon.com/Punch-Out-Amazon-com-Exclusive-Little-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B001TOMQXK), as well... LOL

I am totally psyched for a new Punch Out. I have so many memories of playing Mike Tyson as a kid, can't wait to relive/update some of them :)

Samba de Amigo and Target: Terror looked good too. They both played like crap.

Nintendo isn't developing this game, Next Level Games is. This is the first and only Punch Out!! game not developed by Nintendo.

Nintendo is not going to let this company screw this up. Actually Nintendo has had several game companies help them in the past with game franchises(Metroid comes to mind). Bottom line if you like yourNintendo Wii and first party games, this is a must buy. I have not cared about a ton of Nintendo Wii games, but this one is at the top of my list.

If it weren't up to snuff though they would not release it. Power Punch 2 was supposed to be a Punch Out! game but it sucked balls, and they wouldn't let it happen.

This to me is the most I have cared about a new release since Zelda: Twilight Princess in 2006. So in a word, yes.

I agree as well as anyone else the lower the price the better, but let's be real here. $50 for a new game in 2009 is not bad at all.

I'm pretty excited about it, but still reserved. I don't know yet how I feel about the new graphic style and how well the controls will be (if they're not spot-on this game will be ruined). I'll definitely be renting it first. I loved the NES and SNES games...ALOT of replay value for something that has no unlockables. I have extremely high standards for this series and I want to make sure it lives up to them before I purchase. It's kinda strange, but I'll be pre-ordering the Conduit next week instead of this game. I guess Nintendo should have hyped this game a little more!

They are keeping it pretty quiet. Here is what they know so far:

P.S. I pre-ordered mine on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001TOQ8K2/?tag=retrcom-20) since it was $3 cheaper than everywhere else, and it shipped free.

Punch-Out!! is such a classic. Bring back Soda Popinski!

I would get a Wii just for this game.

There is a Best Buy coupon for $10 off this game if you have a rewardzone membership. What are you waiting for? This is a day 1 purchase.

I admit I was skeptical at first, but the live action trailers they have released convinced me. It doesn't look like a boring abomination like Super Punch Out was.

I have told this story many times, but here it is again.

I bought Super Punch Out on day one. Brought it home. Loaded it up. Got all the way to the second to last guy (rick or nick, whoever it was) on my very first try with zero continues. I didn't even try that hard, and I just blazed through it. The game had absolutely no challenge. After losing the rick/nick one time, I turned it off. Packed it up, and headed back to the store for a refund (this is back when stores like Software Etc would actually take open games back).

That's just amazing. It's not supposed to be like that, you are either really great at gaming or just happened to do everything right in this game. I beat it in a week or so, but never did I get far on one try.

Not correct. They will give you a $10 gift card good for a future purchase if you purchase the game at full price. That's not the same as $10 off or a coupon for $10 off.

No, selling the game for $10 off or $40 is not the same as giving someone a gift card if they spend full price ($50) which they will then need to return and use to buy something else, probably spending more money in the process. If you want a deal on this game, Amazon has it for a few dollars off and if you have ECA you can get an additional 10% off. Costco will likely have it at about $43 as well.

If you are going to be shopping at Best Buy anytime in the near future, there is little difference between giving you $10 now or giving you $10 later. Unless you are so freaking poor that you literally cannot afford to wait for the $10 later. In that case, you probably shouldn't be buying a 20 year old rehashed game in the first place.

Sure there's a difference. It's the difference between spending $40 and spending $50 plus having to spend some additional amount when you actually cash in the gift card. If you're going to try to encourage people to buy a game because of a deal on the price, at least be honest and clear about what the deal is. If you use the ECA discount and the discount Amazon automatically gives and use free shipping and live in the states where Amazon doesn't charge tax, the game really is close to $40. Similarly, Costco will be selling it for $43. Best Buy is selling it for $50 and they are giving you a $10 gift card. It's better than paying full price and getting nothing, but it's not $10 off.

By the way, there's nothing wrong with being frugal, especially in these times. $10 can buy you a game or two given all the sales like Gamestop's Game Days and Best Buy's own sale a few weeks back.
