I was really wanting to get this game, but I prefer using hardware. Anyone make flash carts? Do any exist yet?

Find an online store that still stocks the EZ-Flash IV. It has enough RAM to play the english translation. Those slot-2 GBA loader addons for DS flash cards are crap.

I just bought a EZ Flash IV mini upon your suggestion. Will the mini work just as well?

That's the one I own. It uses Mini SD cards. My search for this Mini model turns up a cart that looks like that but is packaged in a different box. So unless this repack is a cheapo production run, it should be fine, assuming they are the same internally.
At least, I hope you got this new "Mini" model and not a "Lite". The Lite only fits in a DS Lite and lacks decent RAM.

Is this one compatible. This is the one I bought...

I'm assuming it will work on a SP. Any insight is good.

That should be fine.

Mini probably refers to the fact that it takes Mini-SD cards. I've got one, runs Mother 3 great. Just make sure you put it onto the "permanent" RAM by hitting select first.

explain... does that mean it saves the game files on the flash memory?

there's two kinds of memory...one is "temporary" and it loads it onto chips that will be reset when you turn the machine off. the other is "permanent" until you reflash it, and the game will load instantly. mother 3 needs to be in the "permanent" memory to work properly. all your save files will be fine without messing with anything* as long as you remember to turn the GBA back on and let it save (this is just how the EZ Flash IV works, you'll get in the habit of turning it back on after turning it off).
*SOME games might have weird save issues at first, mostly ones with longass filenames (super mario advance 4 had issues for me until i manually renamed the .gba and .sav in windows).

can I have multiple games on a sd card and play them? if so, am I able to save multiple files for different games on the cart? sorry, I'm a pretty big saibot when it comes to tech savy stuff.

yes you can have multiple games, but games the size of mother 3 will take up the entire "permanent" ram and thus you'll have to reflash if you want to play a different huge game. most games you can run off the temporary memory just fine. it'll keep as many saves as you have games.

I'll get back to you later with a mroe detailed guide on this. The EZ-Flash IV isn't as user-friendly as DS flash cards are.

The EZ-Flash 3-in-1 seems to have a rather high failure rate, usually dealing with the save battery being DOA or save files vanishing.
I wanted a nice dedicated GBA card. I already own an Acekard and didn't need another DS card, nor anything that relied on a DS card to work. I can use the EZF4 in the Gameboy Player.

The GBATemp forums seem to be flooded with threads about the things having problems. But I'm not sure I'd count too high on a device that's suppsoed to do DS, GBA and rumble for a cheap combo price.
