I think Sony will be in a position to drop the PS3's price this fall. I think that coupled with big releases like GOW3, Heavy Rain, and HOPEFULLY GT5, and the fact that most of the big PS3 releases from the last year or so will be in greatest hits by the fall, will be the perfect situation for the PS3 to really start selling PS2 like numbers. Anyone else agree??

Your title is misleading, I doubt I'm the only one that is going to click on this thinking it was a announcement of such a thing happening.

It's just that, speculation. There was speculation that there would be a price drop in April/May of this year because they were offering up to $150 back when you applied for a Sony Rewards card and used it to purchase it. There hasn't been a price drop on one of these for a while, so I'd say it's due.

I think a dolphin and an elephant will breed and create a super race of land-sea animals capable of human level thought. That coupled with Apple buying Microsoft will be the perfect situation for me to buy some chicken and make a really nice Francese for the Queen of England while I ride one of those land-sea animals to Cuba.
My speculation is just as valuable as yours.

I speculate that they will release a FF13 theme ps3 with ps2 compatability when it comes out like they did with metal gear

I've been selling some of my games to get $300 and hoping the'll drop it to that price around E3 but Sony has already said they won't be doing that.
Please Sony.

A price drop is bound to happen sometime. Obviously it's not going to be the same price until the PS4 comes out. It has been a while, and it's still significantly more expensive than its competitors, so a price drop is due. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped it this fall.

I was thinking that this would be one of Sony's big E3 announcements. If not, they better have something huge up their sleeves for the show.

I don't care when the price drop is really, all i know is they'll do one eventually and if they don't, then i guess im not getting a PS3. cause to me its not worth the price it is as now. i mean there are really only like 2 maybe 3 PS3 exclusives i like, and 2 games that look good ( not great) just ain't worth 500bucks to me.

I'm not sure they could convince me to buy a PS3 at $300. They almost caught me with the "Gun Metal Grey LE" for MGS4, but then i was glad i didn't buy when they started selling off a bunch of excess stock for $100 less. What kind of LE is that?
As a gamer, i'm pretty sick of being lied to by Sony. As someone in the gaming industry, i'm even more sick of it. If you think the lies stop at the consumer, you should see what they tell their own developers. You should see what Home was supposed to be as opposed to what it actually became...

Sony is starting up a program where you mail in your RROD 360 Elite and they send you an 80 gig PS3.

They nedd to do a price drop now so that people will have the system by fall. That's my window for buying a PS3, if they don't do anything this summer then it will be after the holidays before I buy a PS3.

Really, what gives? Got to agree here. You should edit your title...

A PS3 price drop this fall would be nice
More games people like would be nice. Price drop just makes for a cheap space heater without great games.
