I know some of you probably have a games for every system ever :) , but is anyone here thinking about getting into collecting something new soon?

Me, I'm gonna start collecting for Capcom's CPS2 arcade system. So many classic fighters and beat em ups to be had in pure arcade glory.

Hey Buttamunch, will those be individual arcade boards or is it like an MVS setup with one main board and individual carts? Any chance you going to get the Megaman game for that one? There was an english Asia/World version I believe..

As for me, I've caught myself accumulating classic Gameboy carts all of a sudden.

Bratworst, it's similar to MVS where there is a motherboard, and then seperate carts.

It's Mega Man Battle and Fighters right? I will try to get it at somepoint, but I've never seen it for sale.

First things I want to get are SF2 Turbo, Aliens vs Predator, and XvSF. :)

Sf2 turbo is on the CPS 1 board, the super sfs are on the cps2 ;)

As far as what I'm collecting i've been doing more work on my genesis collection as of late, been trying to get alot of the games that I really think are cool, and didn't get to play as a kid.

That's what I meant, Super Turbo. :)

Right now, I'm trying to get the last two Sega CD games that I want (Time Gal and Vay, if anyone has 'em for sale or trade), but after I'm done there, I think I might start collecting for the TurboDuo, or maybe some obscure Japanese system like the PC-FX or FM Towns Marty.

Getting Capcom's arcade stuff sounds like a damn good idea, considering that many of the titles never came to a home console. I'd love to get AvP, Battle Circuit, Armored Warriors, and the evidently un-emulated Warzard.

Brat, aren't there two Mega Man arcade fighters? I think the first is called Mega Man: The Power Battle, and the second is Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters.

Yep, but I couldn't remember if the second came in an english version (Only aware of a Rockman set) and if it's CPS2.

I think I'm done with consoles for a while. I need a cabinet I can fit in my apartement, but I think I'm going to be rounding up the MVS games I want for a while. Already got one of my biggies (Neo Mr. Do! Complete English kit! WHoo hoo!) so only a couple dozen more. :)

Woah- when the battery goes on these things it kills the board?

buttasuperb
06-01-2003, 06:18 PM
Yes, but a member by the name of Razoola over at the neo geo boards has found a way to fix the board so that it will never die. I'm not sure exactly what he does, but I know he kills a live board, then somehow mods it to work forever. He can also bring dead boards back to life.

Any expensive CPS2 boards I get are going to him to get fixed, even though he lives in Finland so shipping will suck. :)

You can also replace the battery yourself with basic soldering skills. It's recommended to do every 4 years or so. The board can stay alive for about an hour without the battery.

Collecting pirate CD-i CDRs! ARR! :hmm:

Anyways, I'll see if I have a chance at this portable CD-i. I'm coming VERY close to stretching my finances, so I'll have to take it cool for a while afterwards, I'm sure.

Right now I've got no set goal, except to get some great games. I'm not into it for conversation pieces (oh wait, the Telstar Arcade is a neat item) but rather to get legal copies of some games I enjoy playing...off the TV. And to, well, just have them generally. I'm working on a G'nG site, so I should mention that I'm trying to get every Makaimura/Ghosts'n Goblins port, home conversion and even PCBs, but you knew that.

Since I like going to pawn shops, garage sales and thrift stores to find games, I would probably start collecting Sega Genesis or SNES games. (I see those a lot). I would like to collect SMS or even Sega CD, but I almost never see any of those games.

NOTHING, I plan on fininishing off my NES collection completely and then I will be done...............maybe down the road I will work on an atari 2600 collection, but there are so many homebrew games out there and label variations , where do you stop?

I take it you've got all the PlayChoice-10 boards? I'd get those LONG before I'd even touch many of the NES games out there.

I think I'm going to start picking up Gameboy stuff.

The SP has really lit a fire for me & when the Gameboy Player comes out later this month, I'll really be hyped.

Before I bought the SP, I owned one gameboy game.

Well, I really don't have as much as most people do, but after I finish the US TG16 Hucard set I'll go for:

PCEngine Hucards (not all...just the ones I recognize)

3dO (I like this system! I miss Way of the Warrior!..)

Amiga Cd32 (A system I never bought back in the day...although I wanted to!)

Finally a Laseractive system. I always wanted one of these. They were too expensive for me then, and they still are now...sigh...

And if you mean collecting something "new" as in "NEW" and not "new" to me....well...I would probably start collecting GBA games. There are alot of quality games on the system.

I have a dozens of consoles but for some reason this week I picked up two I never thought I would collect for, the Odyssey2 and the N64. One of the first and the last cart system, so it all makes sense ;)
