I have three different rev's besides Tempest Tubes, that all look similar. I know there was some cheat bug in one version. Did they make the 3rd rev. harder?

"Tubes" isn't an official version - it's a "homebrew." :)
-Tempest version one contains the cheat.
-Version two fixed the cheat.
-Version three fixed the screen collapse between the player 1 / player 2 change.

I knew about the cheat / non-cheat versions of Tempest. But that third one is news to me! :D
Hey you seem pretty knowledgeable about this Arcade Antics. Do you have any idea what are the differences between the various Defenders, Jousts, and Robotrons (you now the red label, green label, yada yada yada etc.)? :)

From KLOV
Robotron:
The ROM revisions are as follows:
Yellow/Orange:
The default difficulty is 5.
The demo calls the Quarks 'Cubeoids'.
The default high score is 131682.
Blue:
The default difficulty is 3.
The default high score is 151782.
The 'shot-in-the-corner' bug is fixed.
I don't know about Joust, but I believe one earlier version allowed you to simply stand still and have the pterodactyl ram into your lance (the later versions fixed it so your lance and the pterodactyl weren't normally lined up)

Joust:
Red version: default high score is 107,212
Green and Yellow version: 109,102
The pterodactyl trick was revved out of the game, not sure exactly where. Older machines still have the bug. :)
You have to sit in the middle of the center platform in order for it to work. Each time you kill a pterry, you'll need to move back to the middle for the next one - the pterry bumps you a bit when it hits. :)
I'm not sure about Defender (but will look into it - I've always wondered too), I've always been a Stargate player. ;) Yllabian Space Guppies! (*cough* "Bally" *cough*)

Hmmm yeah I knew of the Joust pterry trick as well and that it was removed.. why I didn't make that connection between that and the revs I have no idea :embarrassed:
Thanks for the info guys! :) Now the only thing left to figure out is Defender :D
