I know this is a very rare item, but I'm sure someone on DP has this and would be willing to sell it. I need a Nintendo World Championship Gray cartridge.

I am willing to pay top dollar for it, but I don't know where to find people who own it. If anyone is willing to sell their copy or knows someone who might. Let me know with a DM or reply.

What's top dollar? I got 4300 US for my first, but they've been going for less these days....

I'm willing to pay around $4,000 or so depending on the quality of the cartridge.

In that case, don't go to nintendoage. It's all reproductions there. (And in my opinion pretty piss poor ones)

I've only seen a handful of legit originals, but you're in the right place to look. Just be careful, I've heard of at least three cases of fraud involving this specific cart.

Thanks Pachuka, I figured DP would be the best bet for a collectors item like this. I will definitely be careful when buying this game. It is quite a bit of money and I will make sure it is a legit transaction and cartridge.

yeah that's some incorrect information right there.

Nintendoage would be a great start , however most folks here that own a real one on DP are also a member of their forums. They have a on going list of who is known to own original copies of the grey and gold carts.

Do you research for sure since there are reproductions out there and any I have seen have something on the label that states it's a repro .

Sorry, I didn't see anything listed as "original NWC cart." That's what I meant.

Looks like the NintendoAge advice might pan out. I found a few owners and hopefully one of them will be willing to sell.

Thanks for your help DigitPress

Keep repro in mind...you can get a lot (all?) of NES carts in your collection for the price of one legit NWC. Not trying to detract you either way, just mentioning it.

I would go to Nintendoage and start asking around. A great site, and awsome folks over there. I am sure that you will find someone who is willing to sell. I wish you luck.

I do have the repo of Campus Challenge because that is pretty much the only way to buy that. Other repo's can be fun, but I definitely want the real NWC.

Geez, no need to be sarcastic.

I wonder if he meant he is "now" a proud owner, or is "not" a pround owner? Typo maybe?

Geez, no need to be sarcastic.

Oops. That was a typo. I AM AN OWNER OF NWC NOW.

It is amazing how one letter in a sentence can change the whole meaning so drastically.

Here is a picture of the game. I also got some cool swag with it. A t-shirt, name plate the original owner had when they played at NWC, NWC guide, NWC ticket, and NWC Trophy from the Denver winner in 11 and under category.

Yeah, the label is much nicer than that one up on ebay right now. Mine is not the best I've seen, but very good condition.

I actually own a retro video game shop in Denver. We mostly sell online, but just opened up a shop where people can buy anything we have in our warehouse. We sell everything from NES to Xbox and only sell used games. The company is JJGames.com.

There is one other good retro shop in the Denver area too. Up in Boulder, near the college. Most other shops just sell new stuff.
