Is there a game trading section on the forum?
Can I not see/access it because I've not posted enough posts yet?

IIRC, you have to wait 10 days after registering.
That, or 10 posts....I forget which. LOL

Maybe this fact should be more prominent in the sign-up process -- lots of members (myself included when I signed up) have real trouble with it during their first few days.
This information is in the FAQ (which, really, one should read before doing anything, but...).
But yes, 10 days to all of the buy/sell/trade you could ever want. welcome to the forum, too.

I was just thinking the same thing. It seems every few days another thread like this pops up.
I was a mod when the 10 days thing went into effect, and I can't remember for the life of me why we did it.

I'm not convinced it's worth the hassle. Poeple won't deal with anyone without lots of feedback, which is very hard to get. I've had 2 people actually do trades with me and for the most part, maintaining my trade thread is a waste of time. Like the guy who offered to sell me something on my want list and did his best to ignore me when I said I'd only trade.

It was to stop fly-by-night sales spammers just signing up, making one post about anything they were flogging (usually on eBay) and buggering off. From what I recall.

Not nearly to the extent it was happening at the time. A group of people were taking others at face with only 2 posts and 3 hours of life on DP as having x games ect and then getting taken in the grab and run. Preventing immediate access though not a preventer, did slow the uptick of 1 posters, here for the buy/sell only and also potentially here to try and pull a fast one.
There is a reason we went about making a FAQ (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/faq.php). I swear it's got some good stuff in it.
And with that...
