Since you can play CD games, I would definitely recommend:
Double Dragon II - awesome remake of the NES version with an awesome soundtrack and much better playability.
Downtown Nekketsu Monogotari (River City Ransom) - another awesome remake of the NES game and as a matter of fact, my favorite version of the game (even over the recent GBA remake). Yes, it's in Japanese, but it's not that hard to figure out if you've ever played any other version. On the downside, it'll probably be expensive to get ahold of.
Gain Ground SX - a great conversion of the Genesis/Arcade classic, but with a fantastic soundtrack!
Ane-San - a goofy all-female side-scrolling beat-em-up with an even goofier premise. The soundtrack is some truly crazy stuff, too!
However, to play these (and Dracula X), you'll need the System 3.0 card (if you don't already have it).

Any RPG's worth picking up?
Emerald Dragon is highly impressive, if you don't mind wading through the Japanese text and dealing with a somewhat limited battle interface.
HuCard:
Alien Crush -While not as great as Devil's Crush, it's still worth trying.
Final Lap Twin -A unique racing RPG that was ahead of its time.
Ninja Spirit -The best action game on the system as far as HuCards go.
Valkyrie no Densetsu -An import. It's a port of Namco's fantastic arcade shooter/action-RPG, and it changes a few things.
CD:
Dracula X: Chi no Rondo -The expensive import. The PSP port's cheaper, though its emulation isn't perfect.
Kaze Kiri -Another import. It's overpriced for what you get, but still enjoyable.
The original Legendary Axe gets recommended often, but it's really boring.

Wow, thanks for all the replies! Seems like there is a ton of good games for the TG16/PCE, now I just need to narrow down the list a little!

I almost forgot to mention Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu. It's more challenging and slightly longer than its NES counterpart.
Alien Crush -While not as great as Devil's Crush, it's still worth trying.
Final Lap Twin -A unique racing RPG that was ahead of its time.
Ninja Spirit -The best action game on the system as far as HuCards go.
Alien Crush does have one advantage in that it is one of the more common and inexpensive hucards available, mostly making up for what I consider minor faults. Ninja Spirit is also excellent and cheap, but unfortunately becomes impossible around level 4, aka the Ninja Free Fall.
The original Legendary Axe gets recommended often, but it's really boring.Probably because it's so iconic as a TG-16 title, associated with a good number of advertisements for the system. VG&CE in its January 1990 issue remarked that 1989 was the year of the 'B' game implying nothing outstanding really came out for consoles for that period, and Legendary Axe was thusly picked by the editors as the '89 game of the year in light of that, I believe. After the first level, I must agree with you.

Ninja Spirit is also excellent and cheap, but unfortunately becomes impossible around level 4, aka the Ninja Free Fall.
I remember spending HOURS trying to get through that level when I was a kid. But it's fairly easy once you know the trick: Get to the left wall and move 1 space (width of your character) to the right. You won't get hit there.
I can actually beat this game without using a continue. The arcade mode is a different story, though.

There are soooo many RPGs (all be it in Japanese), man...
US CDs, definitely pick up Dragon Slayer: Legend of Heroes. It's a cute little Falcom RPG ported from PC89/MSX. It's easy too and not very long. And in English too - bonus! Makes for a nice treat of a kick back, easy, short RPG outing.
I don't know if I can recommend Cosmic Fantasy 2 in good conscience. It reallllly doesn't hold up anymore. Not that it was anything special gameplay/design wise, but the story was awesome (and the cinema's back then too), but the game is a bit tedious in the leveling area - if I remember correctly. Nothing difficult, just some grinding.
If you're into action RPG's, I HIGHLY recommend Legend of Xanadu 2. This game is great. Another Falcom RPG classic IMO. It's not as long as Legend of Xanadu 1 (which is ungodly long). It's also easy to play and isn't too tedious. There's a great walkthrough guide for it. Hell, my 6 year old son beat this game on his own (minus a few parts he needed the walkthrough for).

Ebay prices have become BEYOND ridiculous on TG games lately. :( Legend of Xanadu 1&2 were both japan only, and 2 of the best games (IMHO) for the PCE. If you want a great place to get into on PCE/TG come over to PCENGINEFX.com :)

How dare no one mention the best (and possibly only) Tennis-RPG ever:
World Court Tennis
... seriously it IS fun - and weird to get into random battles only to have to play tennis. Weird, but worth a pickup!

Wow, the US version is going for that much!? That sucks. But it looks like just the "but it now" are going for that much. This isn't so bad (http://cgi.ebay.com/Dragon-Slayer-The-Legend-of-Heroes-TurboGrafx-CD_W0QQitemZ250424890623QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_G ames_Games?hash=item3a4e7c94ff&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50). Also, you might find a better deal on the PCFX forums. I've heard good stuff about Rightstuff, but never been there. I wouldn't pay more than $60 for it, personally.
Yeah, Legend of Xanadau 1 and 2 were only released in Japan.

I have to agree here, but also add that its usually just the Buy it Now games that are way overpriced. If you wait patiently for the right auction you can still get a good deal in the end.
Buy it Now games are always much higher than the actual worth of a game anyway, but it gets to ridiculous levels with the TG-16 stuff because sellers know thats it rarer and that at certain times they may be the only ones with copies of the games you want. This tactic is designed to force someones hand when they feel they have no other options to purchase what they want.
The funny thing is that for the most part it is always coming from the same two sellers which are PompeyParsons and Game_Squad. Whatever you do never buy from these two d-bags! Oh and Nico87, that was a spelling mistake there, the site is called PCENGINEFX.com where all of the turbo heads are.

I can agree that Game_Squad and PompeyParsons have inflated game prices. I have never dealt with Game_Squad but I can tell you that I have dealt with Pompey a few times. When dealing with his higher end games all I do is send him a message with an offer. So far he has taken me up on my offers which are realistic to the games actual worth. He is really a nice guy and he always uses priority shipping. My advice is, Dont give up before you even try". Not everyones prices are set in stone. Take the time to shoot them a message, you have nothing to lose. Now with that said, PCengineFX.com I agree is the way to go. I haven't found a bad person their yet.

Unfortunately yes.
Off topic. I would love to own Xanadu Next if it was to be released in the US on a system other than N-Gage. PSP port Nihon Falcom? It won't ever happen, but wish it would.

Yeah I felt slightly guilty after writing that post because Game Squad is much much worse than Pompey and I was lumping them together. Pompey's stuff is more hit or miss. He will have one thing thats fairly priced and then he will have another thing that is jacked up. I still say that waiting for a auction to come up is the only way you are going to get a good price.

Somer Assualt: A unique action/puzzler where you play as a slinky (with guns! :rockets:)
Dragon's Curse: Fun, side-scrolling action/RPG.
Don't get discouraged if you didn't get the item or it doesn't suit your price, there'll be other chances. Look at me, I'm on my 6th attempt to get Raiden. LOL Remember the old saying: "Good things come to those who wait."
Ebay prices have become BEYOND ridiculous on TG games lately.
Don't forget Sega CD and Sega Saturn. About a year back Snatcher was at $70, now $140 (lowest price). And don't get me started on Working Design games. X_x

I've dealt with PompeyParsons before and he does give an ear to other offers. But why not just add the 'best offer' option to all his items?
Another thing that bothers me is how inconsistent his prices are. His prices on Ebay are considerably higher than on CTCW. On top of that, a Dynastic Hero manual was sold for $30 as a high bid and now he's BIN it at $80.
It's hard what to make of him. On the one hand, he does seem like a helpful guy willing to hear what you say but on the other demands overinflated pricing on many not-so-rare items.

I've bought Parasol Stars, Bonk 1, Vasteel, Lords of Thunder, Cotton, Ys Book 1&2 from Pompeyparsons. Only game worth mentioning in terms of cost, was Cotton at $110.
All the other games were fairly priced compared to the eBay market at the moment. Granted, all the other games I bought are fairly cheap anywhere, though.
He's a terrific guy to do business with. One of the best sellers I've come across, and exceptional when it comes to communication and shipping time/costs.
But you're right, comparing the prices to the ones on CTCW, some of them are up a whole $40!
