Me and my wife have been playing Bubble Bobble on the Sega Saturn, but it has not been that fun since the game has a limited number of credits, and has no saves or passwords. ^^;

So I created a Bubble Bobble entry on the Saturn Gameshark using these codes I found at several Internet sites:

Master code: F6000924 C305
B6002800 0000

Unlimited lives: 8604FDE0 0002

To make a long story short, the codes does not work. I don't think the Gameshark is broken, I just think there is a step I am not doing.

I "turn on" the unlimited lives code and then "start game with enhancements." There is also a selection that says "start game with comms," which I have also tried, even though I don't know what it means.

Can anyone verify that these codes are correct? Also, does anyone have a link to the Saturn Gameshark instructions? Is there a trick to getting the codes to work that is not obvious (like holding the A button or something)?

Thanks

1. The comms port is for communication with a PC to hack codes - you don't need that right now.

2. Did you make two separate code entries? Master code must be it's own code, and Lives must be it's own code (so that you're starting the game with two active codes).

3. Could also be a revision of the disc.

Yeah, I made the master code its own entry. Do I have to turn the master code on, or is it on all the time? I am able to turn on the unlimited lives code, but there does not seem to be a way to turn on the master code.

As far as I can tell, the disc is the original American release. It came with the case and instructions; looks authentic.

By revision I mean it could be a newer printing of the disc. I think I have bubble bobble and a GS...let me see fi I can check i tout

And I figured it out. Why I didn't catch this before saddens me...it's been too long...

The Master Code is correct. The Lives code is wrong.

It should be:

Infinite Lives
1604fde0 0002

You'll still see only "two" lives on screen, however, I died 5 times, and they never changed. So there's the correct code. ^_^

You are correct! I just made the change and it works now. The first digit was wrong. The funny thing is, there are a few sites with the same erroneous first digit. A lot of these sites just copy and paste the same content all over the web.

Tuesday night will be Bubble Bobble night in my household. Thank you for your help!
