a friend of mine gave his sega saturn for me to repair. so far i've been unable to fix it and i cant see the problem. the only thing i know is that the power supply is broken lol.

the problem: when the system is turned on everything is perfect, the cd spins, we have image but a second later it shuts off. please help me to fix this!

there is a lot of rust on the cartdrige port, on the console. maybe because the climate here is so humid. i am not surprised that it is impossible to mantain classic video game consoles here for a long time :'(

try using an old PC power supply to power it, the saturn uses 12 and 5 volts iirc, if it works fine with the PC power supply then you know the saturn has a bad power board

on the power supply there are 5 pins that connect to the main board. 9 volts, 5 volts, 3 volts and 2 pins for ground. but im going to check with a pc power supply that i have laying around

EDIT: its alive!!!! thanks for the tip. now the console works perfectly. since i didnt have any hopes on fixing the power supply i made this "hack" permanent. thank you!!
