I only remember faint memories of this game, but it sort of like a contra game (not sure if it is actually contra ?) but you battle around using guns contra style and then eventually u go to rooms that are full of guns for u to choose from and once u pick one in this room of guns, you continue through the next stage. I only remember this game used to be 1 player as well.

If anyone knows this game, please help, I've been wondering for years.

Thanks!

There was a Contra game released on the Genesis called Contra Hard Corps. The only other game I think this could be is Gunstar Heroes. I remember a room in Gunstar Heroes "Game Board" level that let you choose your weapon.

I'm thinking it might be Midnight Resistance. http://www.sega-16.com/review_page.php?id=562&title=Midnight%20Resistance

I thought it was a pretty fun game. If I'm remembering correctly the Genesis port was slightly different than the original arcade version, kinda like how the Genesis version of E-Swat was different from the arcade original.

No, the Genesis port was very close to the arcade, except for the downgraded graphics.

The music is so great because it's a rearrangement by Hitoshi Sakimoto.

Heh, I just put in an order for the arcade PCB. I've had the MD title for a while.

Gotta see if the Happ rotary stick I got off the 'Bay will work alright with it (it should).

I'm not a big fan of the game. Feels like a watered-down Contra clone.

I tried it on emulator. Great music... gameplay is a little stiff though. I may actually try to complete this one though. I too agree that it sometimes feels like a cheap Contra clone.

i was playing it on my psp as i don't have an original copy just yet. the controls are sort of weird as if i press the shoot button, it shoots like 10 times automatically. is that normal for this game?

Yup that's the way the shooting was in Midnight Resistance, it takes some getting use to.
