I have played for maybe an hour, am going to play more today.

Platforming and fighting feel solid. Just overall it feels too much like Crackdown. Of course everything these days seems derivative doesn't it.

You say that like it's a bad thing. To me that's the greatest criticism someone could offer.

I've been playing the demo incessantly. I foolishly chose free super saver shipping from Amazon. I won't have it until next week.

Seconded. I still feel that Crackdown is one of the 360's best titles. I had a good time with that game.

Is the demo out on the US PSN yet?

Yes, for a little while now.

Everything I've seen it totally reminds me of Crackdown, one of the better games I've played.

Finally played the demo. Fun game. I could do with just the demo until the game drops in price though. I've very rarely, a whole two times actually, spent 59.99 on a PS3 game(and only one time I have do I think it's close to being worth the price I paid.)

I'd say InFamous is worth picking up for 59.99, but I've got quite a few other games for PS3 that I've yet to play or finish to completion. Let's not forget to mention the same for other systems I own.

Ive been really looking at this one too. Played the demo and really enjoyed it. Probably worth finally dusting off my PS3 and playing a real game on it. Last time I did that was Little Big Planet.

Argh! Loved the demo but this is coming out today alongside Virtua Tennis 2009, which I have waited for for aaaages.

Will get VT2K9 and wait for InFamous to drop in price.

Does anyone know whether the Uncharted 2 beta you get with InFamous is a disc or code for a download?

Not I, I don't own a PS3 :(

But the game does look awesome though. Hopefully it doesn't show good presentation on the commercial like Haze did, then sucked.

Just got InFamous today and I'm really enjoying it so far. It has a very similar feel to Crackdown, but with Electricity instead of conventional weapons. It's very enjoyable none the less. I can see me playing through this at least twice, as both a good and evil character.

The demo was good, but I cant decide between inFamous and Prototype (sadly not enough money for both games) and just want to play a really good sandbox title. Any advice?

Wait for the Prototype demo and then make your decision. Prototype looks better, but looks can be deceiving.

It might also be hard to judge which is better by the reviews. inFamous is made by Sucker Punch, a popular Sony developer. Prototype is made by Radical, not as many people know who they are or what they've made.

Those things may affect how reviewers feel about the games.

Agreed.

The demo for inFamous let me know the one thing I was afraid would be messed up "the controls". Really need to get a feel for how it plays for sure. Some of the controls in Prototype look a bit iffy at times.

Infamous is contender for GOTY so far. The comparisons between this game and Crackdown are valid. They both have a fantastic open-world, vertical-platforming element that makes simply going from place to place a lot of fun. I can't wait to get the power-line cruising power (you have this automatically in the demo).

The one thing I'm struggling with is maintaining good karma. It's too easy to end up with bad karma points just by running around the city. Jumping from the top of a building and slamming into the ground? That's bad karma. Killing enemies that are shooting at you? That's bad karma. I've been going back and forth between good and evil since I started. So far it's difficult to play as a hero. You have to actively try to maintain your good karma by "limiting" your fun (IMO).

Definitely a close relative of Crackdown, but that's okay; Crackdown was a kickass title. I also agree with the karma issue. In the early mission where you open up the medical triage area by killing bad guys, I received bad karma for that...? That made no sense at all.

I finished it yesterday with full good karma and had no problems at all. I fired into crowds and did the thunder drop with reckless abandon and it didn't seem to matter very much. If you choose the good options during story/side missions and heal a lot of injured people, it's extremely easy to maintain good karma.

I'm loving Infamous and in some ways it feels like similiar to Crackdown and Assassin's Creed with the platforming parts, probably put 14 hours into it and mixing the main and side missions together to get a long fun experience.

Got this game last Saturday and can not leave it alone for very long. Before I got a chance to play, I had to charge the PS3 controller, then update my firmware, then load the game to the HDD! Yeah, I don't play the PS3 much these days.

Opened up the second area last night, but one of the main missions gave me bad karma? I thought those were neutral? Maybe I killed a few pedestrians or something...

The line cruising is great! Even better when you can charge up by doing it. The hover is awesome as well. I waited to finish the first area after I got 90% on it. Probably do the same thing throughout the game...unless I get bored.

Walking the dog is tough in areas that have not been cleared out!
