In case someone has one for sale, about what should I expect to pay either way? I know modchips are about $20 but the work's also been done. I wnat to be able to make a reasonable offer to someone if they don't ask a price specifically.

I've seen them sell for as much as $50, but they pop up from time to time on WA CL for around $20 to $30. I couldn't tell you, I think it comes down to what you'd pay for it.

Do you really expect to get any constructive feedback after your previous threads asking for advice and then bashing anyone who gave you an honest response?

I'm interested in either a PS1 or PS2 with a modchip installed. Sorry but I'm not purchasing any more games. I'm sick of paying good money for games and selling them for a fraction of what I paid, therefore, I want a single solution that ensures I don't have to buy any games anymore.

I don't care for collector value or any of that. I'm done wasting money on video games and I'm done selling for a fraction of what they are worth.

Perhaps it's time to find a hobby that doesn't make you angry.

Also, if you look at video game collecting as a business to make money rather than as a hobby, it's just going to end up pissing you off. It's entirely possible to buy games and then resell them for more money, but realize that it's hardly a stable thing and that not only do most games end up going down in price instead of up, but determining which ones are going to increase in value rather than lose their value is impossible. Read some of the "Collector's Corner" articles to see what I mean. Three articles with predictions for which PS1 games would end up being worth money, and NONE of them came true.

No, it can very well be a business, you just need to sell short term, then part of that money to buy stuff you want to keep and the other part to buy more stuff to sell.

I would say pay around $30 for one.

Yeah, I know, considering it's exactly what I do to make some extra money (and score extra games for my collection pretty much for free), but it's a ton of work and doesn't always pay off. Certainly not the kind of thing you'd want to do if you don't have the patience for dealing with idiots, and game prices can flunctuate wildly.

It's my only job, though I'm 15 and have little expenses. I make 1k a month in profits or so, and even more if you add how much the games I am keeping are worth.

I'm sorry, I guess I confused "honest responses" with "needless yelling" and "being a jerk about it for no good reason". Seriously, almost none of you were civil about it, acting like I was skinning babies alive or something with my asking price.

I'm I'm getting sick of losing money on video games. This is why I don't buy gurrent gen. $50-$60 per new game only to sell it for $5 2 months later is just bad financial practice. Who's even making money when I end up selling most EVERYTHING at a loss? It's why I don't feel bad about piracy. It's the only way to avoid losing money.

The sales forum was a joke anyway as I had 2 trade deals. I threw away the toys and animation cels just to get rid of them. I have a Sega up but people whine about the price of it when they'd ask the same.

This is one of the least friendly forums I've ever been to.

But I got my answer. Maximum, I add $30 to the current used value for chip + install.

this forum is unfriendly because you act like a douche on it.

So you avoid paying money to legitimate recipients in order not to lose money? Care to explain what those recipients should do so that they won't lose any money? Go to the shopping mall and steal food? And then, what should the shopping mall employee do?
