I was thinking of picking this up tomorrow. I didnt pay much attention when it first came out but i've been watching videos on it lately and it looks really fun. The reviews are really mixed though. So what are the pros and cons? Would you say its worth a purchase?

Yeah, it's worth if for less than $30. It starts slow and it has some serious technical problems (slowdown and occasional crashes) in its third act, but it's also quite fun to play. There's an interesting progression to the story as the problem with Venom gets worse and worse, and some nice setpieces. Spidey's web and wallcrawling abilities in this are for the most part second only to Spider-Man 2 and the combat is actually better, IMO. It adds a lot of aerial combat type moves, the only thing I missed was being able to web people to flagpoles. The two costumes play differently enough to be fun, too.

Not being a movie game also helps, because it allowed them to bring in more Marvel characters and landmarks.

I second the above, I picked it up and absolutely loved it. It isn't perfectly polished but i still had a blast with it.

I only rented the game once when it first came out, so I pretty much forgot about it until now. It was pretty good, but not Spiderman 2 good. I'd get it if it's less than $30.
