Hey, not sure if this has ever been brought up, but has anyone ever thought about converting the guide into an app for the iPhone? I can't be the only one who would love to have quicker access to the database with a few quick taps. I don't normally get any of the pay apps, but I'd be willing to spend some money for something like this!

Well, this isn't exactly the Digital Press Guide on the iPhone. But we just released out price guide as a $0.99 application on the iphone. We are currently working on an update that will allow you the "check" games into your collection. The price guide contains values for loose and complete items from the Atari 2600 through Nintendo 64.

Search the App Store, or itunes for "video game price guide"

Thanks,

I feel like awhile ago Nayus_Dante (sp?) was working on converting the guide into a format readable on portable devices like iPhone and PSP--but I don't know what the status of that is or if he finished?

I tried browsing Digital Press on my Blackberry Storm and it struggles with the frames. It is definitely not mobile-friendly, at least for my Storm. It would be great if there were a mobile-friendly version of the site.

I have been toying with changing up my phone plan, and going iPhone. I use this site alot for my collecting. If anything, does anyone know of just a simple app that alows you to keep track of & view your collection? Like maybe just a list, or maybe with tiny cover art thumbnails?

The Video Game Price Guide iPhone app was released a week ago by us (Video Game Trader). Either the next, or the update after that, will have the capability of checking an item into your collection, as well as the ability to build a wish list.

You can get the app here: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=316807153&mt=8&s=143441

Are you an "old school" or modern gamer and/or collector? Do you shop garage sales, flea markets, eBay? Want to know if you are getting ripped off by your local game store? You owe it to yourself to know what your games are worth.

The Video Game Price Guide contains over 6,000 video game titles and lists prices for complete and incomplete games and systems. The Game Price Guide database is maintained by Video Game Trader, a magazine devoted to video games.

The guide includes pricing information for the following platforms: Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, Atari Lynx, Atari XE, Coleco Vision, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Intellivision, NES, SNES, Virtual Boy, Nintendo 64, Odyssey 2, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Sega Game Gear, Sega 32x, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Pico, Turbo Grafx 16, Vectrex & Sony Playstation. More platforms are planned for inclusion with future updates.

WHAT'S NEW IN THIS VERSION:
What's new in version 1.1?

* Added Sony Playstation prices
* Updated all prices
* Added help screen
* Added Details page for each item with a link to VideoGamePriceCharts.com detail page
* Sorted main screen by Manufacturer
* Added ability to jump to specific letter of the alphabet while browsing
* Test with iPhone 3.0 OS

The next update should have the ability to auto-update prices as we release them (about once per month). Also the next version will add 3DO and Game Cube to the platformm list. Also, we are planning a price increase to $1.99 August 1st.

Sincerely,

Tom Sansone
