I went to go play The Legend of Zelda: Link's Adventure, but I have no idea where I left off. Since it starts you off in the very first screen in the entire game. Anyways, I was wondering if someone could help me find out where I need to go next. I already have the candle, glove, raft, boots, and hammer. Also, the spells I have are shield, jump, life, fairy, and fire. Thanks.

Take the raft over to the other continent and go north through the cave. Go to the right and stay on the bottom side of the river. At the end you will drop into a cave. Go to the right, save the boy, go all the way west to a town, see the old woman at one of the houses and she will thank your for saving the boy and you will learn the reflect spell which will be needed to beat the boss in level 4.

Helpful Tip for Anyone Starting a New Game: When you work your way through the first 2 or 3 palaces, kill the boss but don't put the crystal in. The palace won't turn to stone when you leave, and the boss will stay dead when you come back.

When you put in the crystal, it fills in the difference from whatever amount of EXP you currently have to whatever you need to reach the next level. Therefore, whatever EXP you have when you put the crystal in (including the hefty amount you get for killing the boss) is effectively wasted. So if you leave these first few palaces "unclaimed" you'll get to keep the EXP you've earned. Of course this will slightly delay your reaching the next level, but at the very beginning of the game leveling up is trivial anyway, and pretty easy to do just in the normal process of play.

This trick isn't worth doing with the last 3 palaces (not counting the Great Palace, of course) IMO, just because for those ones it's such a pain in the ass to get to the boss room in the first place, even when there's no boss. But if you leave the first 2 or 3 palaces unclaimed and then come back later after you've beaten all the other ones, it'll fill in the 7-8k EXP you need to level by that point. This saves you from having to grind by killing lizardmen in the forest area adjacent to the last (non-Great) palace if you haven't reached all 9's by the time you need to head out for the Great Palace.

Of course, since you're halfway through the game already, this tip is useless for you. But it's worth remembering if you ever start a new game (or for anyone else reading this who starts a new game).
